Just shows how sensitive the MAF must be. Good work getting it sorted.
Mines now done 450 miles and has settled at 5.1 and the car seems to have benefitted from it.
Glad it worked for you too mate.
Literally only registered to say a BIG thank you to Marshy for the ebay links!
I have a VW Scirocco R with this induction kit on and noticed my fuel trims are -0.6 and +8.6%.
I have fed this back to our forums too and referenced this thread.
Cheers!
Ok, so I'm about to do this mod, but I was wondering if someone could confirm how to reset the fuel trims with VCDS first?
Cheers,
Would it be worth while looking into this without having a MTC induction kit? Or would I be wasting my time? Thanks.
They'll automatically adjust itself after a few hundred miles.
No worries, I found out that if you clear all fault codes, it resets the fuel trims anyway.
Just a waiting game now to see how it performs!
I may have one of these for sale as the insurance have just written my car off , it's been on the car about 10month so it's only done about 850 mile at a push. It's fitted with an ITG filter and the extended bit just before the maf, if I don't get another S3 then I'll let people know if it's up for grabs.
Dibbs on that
I'm pleased it worked for you.
It made a difference to mine too but as you say you can't get better than 0
Mine had dropped from 8.2 to 6.2% right enough... I've even seen a 5.1% then it jumped back up to 7% i'm confused!?? Ha
I checked it again tonight and it was 6.2%.... Short term never seems to go above 3.1% when monitoring it, that why i'm wondering why it hadn't brought it down.... I'll try new plugs and see if it makes a difference... Its weird tho, car seems to he running sweet as a nut!?
Yeah its sitting at stage 1.... Shark map... Tbh it is running great, might swap glow plugs 1st but i'm in no rush.. I'll see if I can get the figures down anymore, it did drop it 2%
Spark plugs do create glow if you shine them under a neon light.... Haha you know what I mean, i'm a data comms eng, just poor terminology!
I've had a little time on my hands today and found a 70mm outside diameter alloy pipe 6" in length and a white silicone hose
My thoughts were to reduce the pipework a further 6" before the maf.
My maf housing is 70mm outside diameter so should be 67mm inside.
These parts cost about £15 delivered do you think it would help any?
Been doing loads of research on the net.
Now ordered them and some stainless jubilee clips, it maybe a waste of £20 or it may sort my fuel trims.
