has any one put a better intercooler on the s3 yet
Looking at the forge one but is it worth the wonga

Good question. If I do go stage 2, was wondering the same thing.

Already have stage 2 just wondering if it's worth while

I remember reading a few topics about this a while back. Most people have either used the Forge or Wagner units. Not much difference in price really. Wagner seem to advertise air temps a little lower and more consistent than the Forge. The Wagner unit is popular with the Golf R boys!

Note you will likely have to play around with a few things to get these to fit perfectly, they don't just drop in despite instructions saying they do. Helped a friend get a Forge unit installed and took longer than expected..

What was the problem ?

The issue we had was with the mounts. They supply O Clips to cover the OEM top mount clips as they use screw on mounts instead. These were fine and with the O Clips in place the new intercooler slid onto the mounts, the bottom ones did not!

The bottom bracket is similar to the Golf R one but not exactly the same. It has an extra plastic protrusion that doesn't allow for a tight fit with the intercoolers bracket. We had to trim this on both sides to mount it properly at the correct angle!
