Yep.
Its a fair weather/weekend toy really but will be performing daily duties for a few weeks.

Not many creature comforts in these old cars though!

Might be changing job locations in 6months time so wanted to be able to do the miles without crippling mpg or having to change cars.
And if I dont then 0-60 in 4.8s, 40mpg and 4wd shouldn't be too much of a chore .:o.k:

Its super tidy, the last couple of owners have done it proud and chucked some money at it.
VR6, Shrick manifold, decat and intake too, sounds wild!

Ha! know what you mean. I actually ran the Golf quite a bit in the nice weather.
In fact the S3 sat unloved for days at a time while the Golf got washed and thrashed about regularly.

As a daily though, it might get a bit of a bind without Bluetooth, heated seats, RNSE, auto wipers etc..
Amazing how you get used to modern gadgets.

335d is XDrive only, no rwd version.

I would have specced it anyway, had a couple of S3s and like that 4wd security.
Not essential but really nice to have, especially with a gazzilion torques.
Saves messing with winter wheels too.

Had 3 offers the day it went on sale but held out for more money.....which I didn't get.

Ended up selling it for the same dosh I was offered on day 1!

Felt like it went too cheap but I guess its only worth what some one will pay.

If Audi were sensible about the finance deals on the 8V S3 then I would have probably had one.

8P S3 is still a great car though.

What where they offering on a new one? I do agree though, for finance deals then BMW & Merc are way ahead of the game!!

Do they throw in a chauffeur for £750 a month!?

Those 335d's are epic. Drove a couple of the F30 330d X-drives at work and they don't have shift & the 8-speed ZF auto :anbet:

I've driven a 330d at work too and it is pretty nice! I thought the gear changes were a little harsh compared to the S-tronic and it was a little bit tail happy in the wet (not sure if it is an X drive though) but very fast and feels very squat. Its also nice to be able to turn everything off using the sport+ mode so it won't change up or down even if you red line it.

Seriously though.. how long was it for if you dont mind my asking? That S3 of yours must have been worth a fair whack and £3k!! prices of a new S3 with a couple of extras, £33k? £750 is extortionate!

When i bought my S3 they offered me my car (£7k) plus 32 payments of £255 and a balloon payment of £8.6k for a £20k car, worked out at about £3k's worth of interest at 12.5% APR with two "free" services, i told him no thanks and got a Deferred loan from M&S at 5% APR! Granted that was a used car but still!

Yeah, not been available in the UK for that long.
The 335d only comes in 4wd now.

Will be useful to reign in all the torques, means I dont have to bother with Winter wheels when gets a bit slippy neither..

Cant remember if it was 24 or 36 months.
From memory with just a few sensible options the car was around 37K!

The GFV was only 18.5K and no real discounts or favourable APR which made the payments a bit daft. By comparison the equivalent M135i was over £250pcm less!

Awesome!

So long as she starts first go that's the only creature comfort you need, haha.

I love my Mk1, but it needs to go unfortunately, for a number of reasons.

What can I say mate, Ive spent 5 of the last 6yrs in an S3 and was ready for a change.
Based on delivery times, the plan was to get into something next March but when I had the opportunity to change this year and BMW had slots in November I decided to do it early.
So Im hanging up the 4 Ring Mankini for now and have a Propeller themed thong being tailored as we speak.
