S3 - Fuel smell.

Hi all, I've just recently started to get the smell of petrol through my air vents after about a 15 minute drive. No drips on the floor or anything that I can see. Just wondered if anyone had come across this before? Cheers

Check the carbon canister fuel vapour pipes, they're rubber and perishing on a lot of cars the S3's age.

Follow the pipes from the canister just in front of your coolant expansion tank, towards the bulkhead. Mine were split and leaking vapour behind the header tank.

Found it I reckon. It's the smaller pipe that comes off the solid boost pipe at the top of the engine. Strip back now see if I can repair it for now. Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, I repaired it, but still got a little bit coming through. Think a jack up on works ramp is coming....

why would you knowingly want to run a valve which leaks?
