S3 facelift 8p exhaust help

Hi all now the exhaust

first time owning a car with a valve in it ?? If I want to upgrade for a better sound how do i do this ?? Ie can I de cat



Can I change back box and leave out the valve in the end which opens at 3200rpm ??

You can remove the pre-cat material (nearest the turbo) without any MOT or CEL worries - it will give you 5-10hp and the turbo spools up better.

The valve needs to be locked open - did mine a while ago and it certainly improved things (both sound and pickup).

You could go for a catback system which would get rid of the valve, or like nluk100 said lock the valve open. Its a 10 minute job and might liven things up for you :thumbsup:

the valve is only pressure operated i believe so no issues with changing system completely if you wanted to leave it out

how do you lock this valve ?? and i take it, you remove the cat, get a drill, or a piece of wood hamer and destroy the insides
