Received a text from Audi that 'TIMING IS EVERYTHING' <grin>

They say 5 years or 75k, am coming up to 5 years but only have 35k.

That's half of what they say mileage wise , and previously I'd never expect to change a cam belt at 35k.

Worth doing or not? I probably won't keep the car beyond 50k myself fwiw

Shouldn't take any risks with the cam belt in my opinion. Get it done.

Get it done. I did mine at 25k. Changed the water pump too for
Good measure. Try a specialist for a cheaper quote, the dealers wanted >£500 for belt and water pump

I'm in the same position, was told by the dealer my car needed a cam belt change as it was 5 years old, but its only done 42k! Still deciding what to do, whether to go ahead and if so do i use a cheaper local garage or the main dealers (everything prior to this has been main dealer, so don't want to effect its resale value?)

I got a text too..2007 170 Quattro with 57k on the clock. Quoted me £429, didn't say if that included the water pump. Got mine done at an indy, new belt, pump etc and a service for £500.

Did mine this year, 5 years and only 27k miles. Did water pump at the same time....

Audi quoted 549 today in a "deal".......

Indy specialist 300+vat for all audi parts.

I have a water pump and cam belt kit all brand new audi parts if anyone is interested.,for the s3 8p2/3

Safety is paramount. I got mine done at 36k from indy with genuine audi parts, also 5 years old.

Getting my cambelt and water pump done this week. My audi is 54 plate, diesel and done over 100k miles...best too be safe than sorry! Mods can wait a while lol!
