Hi guys and gals have been looking at a BBK for when i take the car to stage 2/2+.
have read good things about AP, VWR have not seen any reviews on brembro are they still good?
was recomended a forge set but can not find anything on these either anyone got experience with any of these kits?

Audi use Brembo on the R8, so I'd say they're probably pretty good! Didn't know Forge did brakes, so can't help there. I've just got my hands on R8 rear 4-pot Brembos with 362mm AP Racing 2-piece rotors... haven't fitted them yet so can't say for sure, but N8's warned me about wheel clearance. Not just the rotor fitting inside the drum of the wheel (mine should clear, but 18" and up only) but also the spokes clearing the calipers. Different set-ups and different wheels pretty much have to be tried individually, sometime needing spacers to push the wheel out from the hub.

Bottom line - do your research, and look for people who have the same kit on the same car when getting recommendations. Luckily, there's quite a few guys on here with BBKs from a selection of manufacturers, so you should be pointed in the right direction no problems!

AP racing kit is unbelievable. Still 100% balance. Hard pedal feel. Outrageous stopping power. They are quite simply stunning. Check my build thread for pics.

brembos are good, depending what ones you go for, just dont touch the TTRS ones as they are rubbish
ive been in Rys S3 with his AP kit and they are quality! ive got VWR on mine and they are also fantastic, step on them hard and it will try and pull your face off!

yer i had never heard of forge doing a kit until a few days ago they do two

if i put big brakes on the front do the rears need to be upgraded aswell ?

forge dont make them, they are rebranded, but no one i know knows who originally makes them, and as no one is running them you would be very brave to try them and could end up wasting your money, so i would stick to tried and tested applications

the backs are fine even with a BBK on the front as audi oversize the backs anyway so braking balance and control wont be made worse

was looking at these brembros there more expensive but brakes are something that it's money well spent IMO

Brembo GT Brake Kit [1M1.8033.A] | S3 2.0T 8P Brakes | APS

does anyone know if i would need rears to keep the balance with brembros as they do a rear kit

Brembo GT Rear Brake Kit [2P1.6007.A] | S3 2.0T 8P Brakes | APS

spending money on braking up to a point is good, but you can go to a point where your wasting money, my VWRs have taken everything ive thrown at them on stage 2 which includes very fast road use with repeated very heavy braking on country roads, to give you an idea, mine came off a 500+ bhp S3 that was used for fast road use and track use and neither me or the previous owner never had anything less then 100% confidence in them even after sustained abuse, although the brembo GT kit im sure is good, feel its a little expensive and as its twice the price of similar applications from VWR & AP, or even Alcon!

I already had 10mm spacers, But I think you need around 5mm for the CH to clear.
Bit of a better pic of the BRAKES

All you do is unbolt the old caliper, bolt the bracket on, then pop the disk on then bolt the caliper to the bracket.

Bleeding is a piece of **** too.

Hi Guys,

I have the Alcon Advantage BBK and I have to say they are amazing... not to mention very light!

Will take a piccy if you lot are interested.

Totally agree! I had the Alcon Advantage Extreme brake kit on my Astra VXR and it was pretty amazing, great performance even when cold and not a single sign of any fade. Wasn't sure they did a kit for the S3 though. Only thing I'd say is that replacement rotors for the Astra anyway were very expensive at around £700 a pair  x
