I recently purchased an 07 S3 8P, previous owner put and aftermarket exhaust on the car which is tripping a fault for the engine light due to the different exhaust being on the car. Does anyone know how I can stop this?

The light is probably due to the emissions not the valve is it sportscat/decat?

You can try a lambda spacer, I'd reccomend an angled one which takes the lambda sensor away from the flow of exhaust gas and tricks the ecu into thinking all is fine. Doesn't always work but did for mine. Only other thing is to have it remapped which stops the light appearing completely

Yes it is tripping both faults - emissions and exhaust valve as there is a wire not connected to the new exhaust compared to stock. Thanks for your advice I will have a chat to my mechanic about the remap.
