S1 standard clutch fails after 4000 miles!

Hi guys,
I’m just looking for a bit of advice, as the title suggests my clutch failed after 4K on the motorway whilst cruise control was on. I got an EPC warning light then after pulling over and restarting, a couple of miles later, the clutch fails.
The worst part is that Audi are trying to hold me liable, saying that the fly wheel and pressure plate have blue spots and there is no component failure so I must have been driving it hard.
Short of rejecting the car can anyone offer any advice?

For me this kind of stuff is all about how much you are willing to challenge it, and how far would you go to recoup or potentially lose costs doing so. I would argue that it's a Sports car that's meant to be driven hard... they even drive it hard in the adverts... that would be my stance, but again, if you arent prepared to challenge in a court of law (if it got that far) then it's not worth the efforts... that's the sad fact. You could always seek some free legal advice from a motor specialist.

I agree with the above. I would also be asking for video/photo evidence that shows the “blue spots”. Wouldn’t be the first case I’ve heard of, where claims are exaggerated, by a dealer.

Guys, I think you’re right, it’s going to be a long hall. I haven’t involved customer services yet, as I’m dangling it over their head. My stance is I’m not paying a penny, the car is still young enough to be rejected under the consumers act, that’s my end game, but it’s something I don’t really want to do but I am prepared to.

Escalate it to customer services / audi uk and don't waste time listening to the BS that the dealership are feeding you.

Is it on a PCP? if yes then why not speak to them about it? It's their car and if you stop paying .........

With respect, I wouldn't even contemplate not paying, you should always meet your financial agreements, and if you wish to pursue legal action, that would be the time to claim back the money if a decision was made allowing you to refuse ownership of the car. Missing payments will only open up a can of worms in the long run; credit score being affected, inability to get finance in the short term, lost court cases costing more in the long run... it's just not worth it.
 
I hammered my Clutch on sat by launching it 8+ times in a row against my cousins Evo 9 and the cars now got 28k on the clock. not a single bit of clutch slip while hammering it or after and the car is stock until this Wednesday when it goes in for stage 2.

Yes I agree but I have read , on this Forum and others, that people having 'trouble ' with dealers and warranty work involve the 'owners' of the vehicle , sooner rather than later, and this action seems to wield a lot more clout than the vehicle keeper who can be picked off more easily.
 
Hi guys, thanks for your replies it’s greatly appreciated. Had a meeting with the dealership and although they present nothing more than opinion with no evidence to back it up they still won’t accept liability. In response I’ve contacted Andrew Doyle (MD), as the customer service team don’t seem to have any influence on their dealerships. I’ve attached photos of the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. As you can see the pressure plate and flywheel has oxidation spots from excessive heat. Note the bent finger on the pressure plate that I believe to be the cause of it all.
