S line 2.0T FSi special against GTI

Just been in to my local Audi dealers and got offered a Sline 2.0t cheaper than I can buy a new golf gti.

Does any one know how the handling compares?

The last A3 Sline I drove was a tdi on the old grill, so I can't really compare and they don't have a 3 door sline 2.0t demo at the moment.

General consensus is that the Gti is a far more fun car to drive than the A3.

I don't think I've come across anyone that disagrees with that.

Certainly,where I live,there is far more exclusivity in the Gti as well,if that's important to you.

Hardly see any of them on the road,but A3's are everywhere.

I don't know what you've been quoted for each car,but;

are quoting the following prices for UK spec cars,sourced from UK dealers.

Golf gti 3 door - £ 19745.00
A3 S-line 2.0T 3 door - £ 20873.00

The S-line A3 will have 18 inch wheels and part-leather interior as part of the extra £1000,whereas the Golf will have 17 inch wheels and cloth.

Personally,I don't find the part-leather interior anything to shout about really,so you could always just upgrade the Gti to have 18 inch wheels and enjoy the better handling.
