I recently had a new head unit fitted to my A8. The problem is that the radio reception is nowhere near as good as before. In fact its rubbish. Is this normal and what do i do to resolve problem?

Don't know about the A8 but on my golf they used a twin aeriel with booster , 1 for FM and 1 for AM I think, most aftermarket HUs need to connect both to one aeriel and then you need to power the booster from the electric aeriel lead, if you have had it installed correctly then it shouldn't be any different.

Yes, most likely need an antenna adapter which powers the Audi booster, depends on age and model but this one is the most common unless your A8 is quite new in which case you'll need the Fakra one:

The installers should have done this, but maybe they didn't power it, as it needs to be connected to the antenna power connection on the new HU.
