Rubber mud flaps

I can't be the only person that thinks the moulded plastic mud 'flaps' are pretty useless on lowered cars.

What do people think about these? Suspiciously cheap and probably nasty but they are rubber which I think, look better anyway.

Seriously though on a practical note, it seems silly to put cm's of moulded plastic under a car that's usually laden and already lowered (s-line, Black edition).

Personally, I feel the rubber flaps remind me of some rally car styles which isn't a terrible look.
