I am now a proud owner of an ibis white RS4. Bit of a change from a B8 diesel. My original plan was to get a B9 S4 but when I checked the price of RS4s they were in my budget. So after test driving one I fell in love and had to have one. Luckily I managed to find one with the spec I wanted straight away. So from deciding on a RS4 to driving it away was about 2 weeks. The car is a October 2014 Rs4 on a 64 plate with 49k miles. Options are Sports pack Black pack Hill hold assist Bang and Olufsen sound system Heated front and rear seats Privacy glass Folding and dimming mirrors Advanced key Audi connect Convenience pack Garage door opener High beam assist Storage pack Tech pack advanced The car had a bit more miles then I wanted but it's just had new discs and pads all around, stronic oil changed, brake fluid, service and MOT. I will only be doing 6-8k miles a year. So should be low maintenance for a while. Also was cheaper to insurance then my old diesel. First thoughts after doing about 100 miles. It's a fantastic car. Easily cruising on the motorway on the way home, had a 2 hour drive back from the Audi dealer. Accelerating off roundabouts is addictive. The noise abouce 3-4K is amazing. Took it easy to start with as didn't want to have an accident or get a speeding ticket. This is the most powerful car I have driven so giving it some respect and car. Managed 25mpg on the way home. So not bad. Not really played with any of the extra gadgets yet but the sound track of the v8 is all you need. Only bugs so far is that the hill hold assist is not remembering being on. Having to press the button each time I get in the car. So not sure if this is an isssue or not. Also noticed the windscreen doesn't have the sunshade bit at the top like my diesel A4. Have also notice a clunk when you are slowing down and when you switch from auto to dynamic mode. So might be the exhaust flaps. But will see how it goes before taking it into my local to look. As it's an approved used Audi I get 12 months warranty. On Friday we are going on holiday to France. So that should give me time to really get us d to it. It's about 600 miles of driving to get where we are going. Should be really good fun on yet nice flat quite French roads Will put some pictures up tomorrow. As not had any time to take any.
Glad you are enjoying the new car. It should remember the hha status. Is the driver's seat memory switched off? Make sure it is on and have everything as you want and store it in the memory. Make sure you only have one key in the car as you can store different memories to each key. So if your wife drives the car when she uses her key it will move the seat, mirrors to the positions saved on that key. Enjoy your holiday. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
promised some pics of the car. have noticed the black exhaust surrounds are pitted. wonder if Audi would replace??
i will have to have a play later in the car. not really played with the memory seat. today i only had one key in the car, but have not stored by seat position in the memory. so do i need to put the HHA on and then set the settings into the memory? probably should ready the manual...
Very nice! Not sure if the hha memory was a april 15 change to be honest. I found the trip to be 9% out all the time so i changed it. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
I thought it was. Car was registered in October 2014 so presuming it's a MY14 and believe that was part of the update. Might have to take it into Audi after the holiday.
Found this on rs246.com. Says should remember. Not a big deal and can live with it. https://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?t=113454
Yea that's not right. It changed when they changed the tyre pressure recommendations in april 15 Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Oh well. Does seem strange that my 14 plate a4 remembered yet the RS4 didn't. On the plus side the RS4 doesn't have start stop. Hated that on my A4. Out of interest did your RS4 have the windscreen with the tint at the top?
Totally different cycles built in different places by different people. And yes hha and start stop in pre 15 cars is a ****** joke. Mine did not have a tint up the top Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Makes sense now. Just need to sit back and enjoy the car. My 4 year old son keeps telling me to make it noisy and loud..
Haha mate that reminds me of my nephew. This is what he does to this day when hearing an engine rev after going in my RS. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Mine remembers hha and it is a sept '14. Also has a grey top tint, very subtle mind you. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Lovely machine mate, I'm seriously thinking about getting rid of my RS3 8v and going for one,I've always wanted one, quite a few on pistonheads just now,I fancy white myself. With those being new front discs I'd get them nano coated to keep them that way for a long time, you see far to many that's grubby and terrible looking. Enjoy that monsterous sound of that v8 on your holiday.
another question. Do i have the latest sat nav and mmi software? below is the information from the car? would i get any free updates from Audi or would I have to pay for the update? Reason I ask is that i live on a new estate and the sat nave thinks i am currently in the middle of a field. my Tomtom and google shows the road but not the car sat nav.
That's pretty old. Original by the looks of it. This was april 17: 168 quid Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Local Audi just came back with a quote of £263 and confirmed the software and sat nav are from 2014. Not sure if it's worth doing or not. Apart from updates maps what else would I get. I have a tomtom with lifetime Maps.
Mine had google earth. The firmware speeded it all up, made the colours changed and added some my15 bits to the green menu Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Will have to think about getting it done. It is something I can get cheaper and do it myself. Or is it a dealer only update?
Dealer only in reality unless you want to faff about. The hdd needs repartioning to fit the new maps on. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Or get it free like I did! But that was a bit of goodwill after they told me they broke my rear bumper! My car went in to have the exhaust trims changed as they were pitted, do the nav update and try to sort out the rattly sunroof. They did the trims but as they removed the bumper it split at the top where it clicks into the side under the fuel flap. They have been good about it and on Monday it is going on for a new bumper and they are going to have another go at the sunroof as that is still noisy. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
I think the nav updates take 2-3 hours and you need to keep the car powered up, that's why I asked them to do it. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Correct. Be careful your sunroof drain holes are not clogged with grease after the tpi on that. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Yes they have applied the 'special grease' and no different. It may need a little more. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Yes just be careful and check. Mine flooded the footwell after they went ott with it. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Ok, thanks for the heads up, I will check. Did it cure the sunroof rattles though? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
My exhaust trims are also heavily pitted. Did you get them changed under warranty or did you have to pay for them?
Made it to our holiday place for the next weeks. Over 600 miles down and still loving it. Only issue so far is a clung sound when we slow down and going from 5th to 4th. Almost sound ms like a solenoid shutting. No warning lights on the dash very odd. Any ideas?
