A few weeks back I looked into alternative Brake Discs that would fit my B7 RS4, I refuse point blank to pay £1200-£1400 for four Brake Discs. To cut a long story short.. With a bit of research and a local machine shop....I just replaced all 4 discs on my motor 2 weeks ago for under £400. Hopefully all the pics will upload. The 4 Discs in question are for a VW Phaeton, the fronts are 360mm in diameter (5mm smaller than RS originals), 34mm thick, 68mm centre bore, 5 x 112mm PCD (all as per originals) the only size that stops you fitting them straight on is the disc height..(the size from the inner braking face through to the wheel mounting face) RS originals are 59-60mm, the Phaeton front discs are 72mm in height (hence you need a spacer/adaptor machined that is fitted between the disc and the hub of the vehicle) in this case 12.5mm. the rears had a choice of two sizes, 310mm and 335mm (324mm for RS originals) I opted for the 310mm as the 335mm would not fit as the rear caliper mounting bracket would've fouled the disc. All other sizes are the same as the originals apart from the height, the rear spacers/adaptors are only 2,5mm thick. The discs were not drilled when i bought them so I marked them out and drilled them at my work. They have been on the car for two weeks now (approx. 450 miles) and are all looking and working as they should. The spacer/adaptors are machined from alloy wheel spacers that you can buy on ebay. There is a pic of the original Discs and the alterative Discs and spacers. Pics of Brakes and wheels are as they are now...on the car.
