As the title really, Car is coming up for its second service so need a decent dealer (not stockport or manchester!) I am thinking of travelling to Stafford Audi as they seem to have good feedback any body recommend them ?

I know John (45BVTC) uses them, I use Stoke Audi, part of the same group and have always had excellent service. The RS4 will be going to them for it's services etc...:arco:

I do like Stafford Audi. I find the front face guys and gals quite human, able to converse back and forth easily, and willing to show/demonstrate their facilities, and what they have, or have not, done. That said I've recently found them not so perfect, but at least they communicate, and that I like.

For example, following my acceptance of their invitation to view the new S3, and having disapprovingly viewed the 'other' Audi cars available, I wrote to Stafford Audi's business manager to report that I thought the presentation of 2nd owner Audi cars on their 'lot' was pretty abysmal. However, early the following day, and full credit for making the effort, the '2nd owner Audi car lot' had been inspected and a response received agreeing with my 'review'. I thought that neat; that the business manager had taken time to review the '2nd owner Audi car lot' and taken the time to correspond and assure me while their standards may have slipped somewhat they would take the necessary steps to restore customer expectations.

Yes, I'm ok with Stafford Audi...

Seems to be a lot of good feedback for Stafford Audi, I've spoken to them today and they quoted £487 for the second service, just over an hour from me and they can fit me in this coming Saturday.

I'm up in Scotland but need to get my 2nd service done in the next month or so.

What does the 2nd service consist of to get to almost £500?

Thanks

Oil & filter change

Pollen filter change

Spark plug change

Are you only contemplating a main agent, what about a specialist

BVR automotive are great and they use 100% genuine parts

While it's in warranty yes only a main dealer.

For £487 !
This is exactly why i don't use main dealers. I use an independent garage which uses genuine parts who is also a personal friend of mine and i know im not being ripped off. When i part exd my wifes A5 convertible for my Bmw they didn't care that it didn't have dealership history and they said they wouldn't offer me anymore for it if it did.
Audi charge a fortune for oil and things aswell, i bought 4l of Castrol Edge FST 5W-30 for £25 from Costco, Audi would charge a considerable amount more for the same stuff.

You are being robbed at £487, here is my 2nd service invoice breakdown (this was a 'free' service so Audi Finance were paying), from my 20,000 mile report:

As a few of you have probably got your second services coming up here are the invoiced costs from my service package:
Parts: £130.25 (sump plug £1.58, Filter £10.43, Filter £13.36, Spark Plugs £66.60, Oil £38.28)
Labour £161.50
Total £350.10

I swear they see an RS badge and make up the service and parts prices then add a random number for fun!

Oh and not that you would but under no circumstances take your car anywhere near Cardiff Audi, they only like fleet DIEsels.

Veneeringman, Phone Stoke Audi ask for Chris or Adrian on service reception (tell them you know Wayne) and I'm sure they will price match this...:salute:

At £192.90 that is one expensive cappuccino, at least see if they'll throw in a second cup free.

The second service on my RS3 was £320 I got a small discount due to be a very regular vistor at Camberley Audi but I think that was only 5-10%

I am really suprised how the same service varies across different dealers!

Stoke Audi seemed keen they have quoted £390 to do the service.

But this is VERY close, Sean, and Ben's salivating already...

An excellent establishment and only a few miles away from Stafford Audi (on the A518 Weston to Uttoxeter road near Chartley Manor) in which to while away the hours whilst the car's being serviced - maybe a mini-meet one day, who knows...

Now I ain't sayin' we shouldn't be usin' Audi Servicing, but, if there's just the ONE reason for using Audi to service the car you've spent your hard earned on it's the availability of any and all upgrades available, you don't get this with the independents.

I guess this is the reason Audi DON'T advertise the upgrades readily, and why some Audi owners claim surprise when their own car isn't/hasn't had the latest upgrades. :sign_omg:

It happened to me once (my wonderful 2001 S3, until I drove the RS3, tsk!); I ALWAYS did my own servicing and (VERY!) occasionally used independents, but then for whatever reason I used Audi to do a one-off MOT on my S3, and along with that came several upgrades that I'm happy to say were FREELY applied.

My own experience: you pays yer money and makes yer choice...

NO worries here...

The BIG difference here for me is: DO you 'OWN' the car, or do you rent/lease it: if it's a lease/rental then hey...........................................!

Me and Bluey are together for some time yet (I may have said that before somewhere) so she'll be getting Stafford Audi service for some time yet.......

Well the plot thickens shall we say !!

Manchester Audi say the 2nd service is an "inspection service" and that Stoke / Stafford Audi are wrong to suggest that the Oil & Filter change is required as this was done at 10000 miles !!

So Manchester Audi are saying all that's required is pollen filter and spark plugs.

Oil change is done when the DIS says so.

Mileage is 18500

DIS is saying 500 till service, however the oil change service is 242 days away.

Car is on long life service Oil used at 10000 by Stockport is Shell Helix Ultra A-VL 5-30
