Won’t the pins just need tapping out with a punch or something similar?

Just zoomed in on a pic of one on eBay and looks like it’s just 2 pins like on a brembo caliper like you’d find on a renaultsport.

Tap out the 2 pins with a punch.

Wow is that it?

Do you need to use VCDS or OBD11 or something to put the brakes into 'service position' is that what its called? That it? Then the pads just come out?

Might even be worth doing just to properly check my pad wear.

No VCDS required for the fronts.

Pins out, lever the pads to push the pistons back (take top off the brake reservoir under the bonnet)

Then they slide out.

That’s just for the rear because of the electric handbrake I’d assume.

Rears you are referring to there.

Lining change mode retracts the inner winder mechanism so you can put new pads in.

I have been able to take the pads out without initiating lining change mode and just leaving the H/B off, it leaves just enough room to remove the caliper body.

Brembo callipers are probably the easiest design to change pads known to man.
It's part of the appeal.
Just make sure you use a good quality hardened drift for the pins.
A sawn off screw driver will suffice.
Copper slip is not recommend for the back of the pads

But are we talking rear's here?

No. Fronts. Never had brembo pins that haven’t come out without a fight!
