Maybe if the RS3 isn't about then Audi will push it ahead of the Golf 'R', where it should have been already....
Too much power gap between them anyway ie S3/RS3 it was always around 60 BHP now 90 bhp Audi should close the gap a little like they did with TTS/TTRS
No matter how VAG market the Golf R and its spin off editions that Dashboard belongs in a the likes of a Aygo 10"binnacle surrounded by high gloss plastic **** my little fiesta gas 12 inch digital binnacle
The RS3 8Y will still be around for a couple of years as it's engine is EU 7 compliant
My friend just purchased another F-pace SVR the exhaust and engine sound is so strangled/muted l thought why bother like most on here l am all against ICE Armageddon forcing this will only bring disaster in so many ways

So 80bhp difference for the TT’s versus 89bhp difference for the A3’s.

Facelift S3 needs the 330 bhp EA888 engine and a more pleasing interior then it'll be the car it should have been from the start
Our S3 is as dull as dishwater. :(

Not sure what they can do to change that.

Im guessing they didnt try and persuade you to reconsider?
Not really. When I spoke to the Sales Manager he was putting a positive spin on it, I don't think he was aware of the nature of my call, He was trying to put a positive spin "Saying yes Mr Oliver its Wk27 build date...." Then I just rained on his parade advising I was cancelling. They sent my Paperwork back Godspeed but not my deposit (which Shielding aside, I have to go into the dealership & get my refund back) Why they couldn't raise a cheque with the PW

My Google review of this "Business" will be interesting, To say the least. ..

I JUST had the email telling me the build of my car is complete. In all honesty, I am surprised as I didn't hear anything from the dealer at all.

I have my Launch Edition and I would consider trading it in IF it would cost me less money but the value of my LE and the finance remaining is the same - and I would need £9k to complete the original deal. Any smaller deposit and I would end up paying more each month than I do now so it seems very likely that when the dealer does eventually call me that we won't be able to come to a deal.

Do be honest if you sell the car privately that it has been in an accident..

A tiny small accident - something which everyone has from time to time. It hasn't in any way made the car worse as it is being repaired now. I think thats being melodramatic. It has a dent in the wheel arch, and a few scratches to the alloy, and the wheel hub is being replaced.

Yeah but you are trying to repair it on the cheap it would seem.

Small accident - should I fix this myself?

Just what we need in this world. A self-proclaimed 'car journalist' that is so enthusiastic about cars that fixing a £60k car with a bit of t-cut and a slide hammer is the way to go. Can't wait to see the next video of that.

LOL it’s being repaired by the insurers body shop. I’m not doing it myself. It will be as good as new when I get it back.

Do remember if someone ask you has the car ever been in an accident you must answer yes!

Neither have I. Tend to stay away from insurance bodyshops too, they don't get paid enough to do a quality job.

Took me a long time to find a body shop that was capable of doing panel work to a ‘as factory’ state.
Most repairs aren’t even blended properly these days, with body shops usually trying to blend on swage lines which in my eyes is asking for trouble further down the road, as the blend line can become visible.
If it were me I’d be wanting a new wing on that repair, the minute you start putting more primer/colour / lacquer on top of factory you start to lose swage line definition because lacquer build softens any sharp lines……

Honestly - calling it an accident makes it sound more dramatic than it was! The plan is a PX and the £10k equity going to the Vorsprung; again this is only because it will reduce my monthly payments and get me into a brand new zero miles car. If it didn‘t make it cheaper I would keep the LE.

How long does it take from the finished at factory email to the dealer?

An example....................
The 'Only' repair I was nearly happy with was on a TTRS with an odd previous history, 5 months old and 90 miles only, dealer said it had been a display car at Golf events etc but had a 'smart repair' on the passenger door that looked appalling. The dealer said it was 'bird poo' damage.......but we will get to that later

I said I would only buy the car if they repaired it and I couldn’t tell, well they did a good job that didnt show up from any angle so I bought the car, my smart a*se lad found it though by the rough bottom edge to the door where the lacquer had 'ended' but otherwise good

I then found a couple of pieces of toughened glass within the seat runner (maybe the bird was cra**ing bricks?) and at illegal speeds the wind noise from the now obviously replaced window was horrendous, that took me two visits to the dealer who said they couldnt get it to make that noise and it wasnt a problem as we have a 70mph speed limit and it's quiet at that speed.

I ended up setting the window mechanism myself and all was quiet :)

Why what else would you call it when someone runs into you ?
Lol you should mention that when part ex time comes, “has it ever been in an accident sir ?” “Oh never ever, just a light kiss, nothing to worry about.”

(Most) Insurance owned bodyshops are some of the worst out there, they're only concerned about keeping the cost low. I'd have taken it somewhere else if I it were me personally.

I didn’t think insurers owned body shops, more so contacted the work out…

Tale of 2 half’s in my experience, they charge more for insurance work and do it to the required standard. Where as private customers will get a cheaper better job.

That was the way it used to work, places bumped the insurance rate because they had to discount the insurers to remain approved. Insurers moved work in house to have direct control over the cost which made matters worse.

Required standard is a variable thing and you have to be so clear in what you want. Many then won't do the job but thats fine with me.
