It makes me laugh…….. you read posts on certain group’s ‘hey guy’s, anyone having tyres rubbing the arches, I’m lowered 30mm and have 15mm spacers on’

Then you get the obligatory picture of a rear arch having its paint worn away and the comments usually blame Audi for not putting on Pirelli tyres

Err nah mate I think you taking stuff out of design tolerance will screw up the tyres / arch work.

Nutters.

Even worse you see legitimate companies screwing cars up……and you tubers making vids about being unhappy with them

Would this be other RS3 owners or just a general observation across the board?

Whats Audi's take on wheel spacers? or does everyone spend time removing them before a service? :tearsofjoy:

Don’t seem to get it with other models though.
I just don’t understand how people think the rebound/ cornering forces won’t come into play after modifying suspension in this way….

The telling thing for me was the pictures of 8V’s starting to surface with rusty arches and paint missing from lower arch/cill areas…. And Audi getting the blame, laughable really.

That’s hardly surprising though when you consider how big a’ spacers he’s fitted though. These must be 20s at least coupled with they tyres is just a no go…and it looks a bit silly imo.

I run spacers but mine sit flush with the arches now, not poking way out like his do.

I do wonder why a company would put those spacers on a car and not expect issues to arise for a customer……..

Just looking at the car tells you it ain’t right…

Bridgestone tyres on his car though. With the sidewall on those he's bound to have problems with the arches.

At the end of the day, it's his car and his preference on how it looks irrespective of whether it is correct or not by everyone else's personal taste.

As always said across the forums, it's all a matter of personal taste and preference.
He may not like other members' tastes in mods etc so it works both ways.
Why run the guy down.

No one is running anyone down, the point is that certain owners are having these spacers added to their cars and then wondering why the rear tyres are catching the arches……

Why anyone would want alloys sticking out like a Transit custom van is beyond me

I have always wondered why Audi haven't included something similar as Porsche did with some of their models ie PASM which l believe lowers the car by 10mm plus active suspension
Audis Magnetic Damper system

Needs lowering lol

There’s one of these near me and it’s lowered, tyres are very close to the arches….

Seems to be weapon of choice to the 30 something entrepreneur

If you are a ford enthusiast then this is a proper fast ford.
Zakspeed were masters of the wide wheel arch design.:thumbs up:

No sign of tyres rubbing wheel arches here.

Mental, I sold it to a trader who’s now sold it back to a Audi dealer for a crazy amount!

Reg is RK71KYU if anyone ever needs any info on it.

Funny things these Audi sharks, sorry I meant to say Dealers.

Whilst I was waiting for my car I would send the odd e-mail and make the odd phone call, e-mails where sometimes replied to within 3 days, phone calls? very rarely did I get through to my sales person and very rarely did she ever phone back with an update :sadlike:

(I have had my car since the first week of March)

Last week I was messing about on the Audi web site and pressed the 'used car valuation' F8ck me within about 10 nano seconds the phone rang, it was my Audi dealer trying to buy my car back :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

Which brings me back to the question of them selling mine and ordering a new one hence the long wait.

I'm sure they wouldn't do that though... :box:

What happened in the gallery thread? I hope it wasn’t my post about Nogaro Blue that caused it. I really am colour blind/deficient. That’s why I have kyalami.

Not sure, all I did was quote my original message with both pictures of the Nogaro blue. Someone seemed to have an issue with it as he does with most members on this forum. Admins seem to turn a blind eye when it comes to him as he’s a ‘paying’ member.

Mr 5pot,
Admin does not turn a blind eye whatsoever, if you think that then you are very much mistaken.
I operate a live and let live policy, play the game and it's a very easy-to-follow game of rules and there won't be an issue, cross the line and push things and it will create a response.
I locked the thread again at my discretion if you have a problem with my decision making then I suggest you contact me directly and I will clarify things for you personally.

Paying or non-paying makes no difference in my book, everyone is subject to the same rules and standards of behaviour.

It had nothing to do with @kayemill's reply, which, is why I deleted all replies after it.
