Facelift Rough Idle; Misfire?

I think it’s wrong to think that over the 1000’s of revolutions and ignition firing cycles that there aren’t going to be misfires in thousands of miles of use.

Your statement of not believing VCDS ? On what grounds are you basing it ? Because it’s not telling you what you want to hear ?

How else then are you going to look at any misfire information ? The Dealers ? They’ll only be interested when it breaks so they can say to you “yes mr nutta it’s broke”

You gotta be careful hear AN.....chasing a fault that doesn’t really exist could ruin your RS ownership.

Of course you will get misfires, to be expected.

Just going off of how at 17k miles I seem to have around 600 average misfires and you have between 2000 and 3600? So my hope of each cylinder being consistent appears to not be correct. The VCDS data for my car categorically defines cylinder 2 as a possible culprit, just looking at yours now and seeing there is no comparable data and you have no problem.

If the specialist comes up with nothing I will keep running it and wait until the day it breaks, got another nice 3.5 years of pre-paid warranty and it will be extended after that.

I’m not taking it to heart, as I said above now I’ve decided that if the specialist doesn’t find anything that’s the end of the line for me and will wait until the car tells me it wants to go in.
