2001 A4 , rust has set in around the roof gutter line and is spreading .
Im well outside the 12 year warranty period for corrosion so will need to tackle this myself - I wont be paying a body shop as the car is too old with big miles.
Can anyone tell me how to get the roof gutter trims out so I can get to the rust and treat it.....cheers.

As far as I am aware they are just pushed in snug. I am tackling the same on mine over the next few weeks but my job is a paintsprayer so not an issue. Once I've had a go at removing mine I will post my findings but on my two previous audis they have just been wedged in there good and proper. I believe the rust is caused by the edge of the trim vibrating over the years and cutting into the paint and allowing wet and crud to sit there and do its thing

If it had the raised aluminium roof trims then I suspect you are correct but if they are the recessed painted trims I don't believe they are bolted in and just tuck under the front screen lip etc but may be wrong
