Hi,

I collected my 2009 plate S3 today, which had listed an ipod dock in the glovebox, I was looking for the media button but had none :(
As this was fitted from the factory, I presumed it would. When selecting CD it will play a podcast for (1hr track) for five minutes.

Why does it do this? I don't think it charges the phone either.

I'm guessing the later model 2009+ does a better job of playing tunes from your iPod. I'm also guessing it's probably easier to just use the factory Aux in, or just use the mem stick?

The Satnav was £1600 new approx, the RNS was in my Golf was loads better :(

Unfortunately it appears you have the older mk1 rns-e & thus the rather wanting ipod unit that just acts as a changer connection with no data on the head unit.

To get the better system, it would need an upgrade to the mk2 & the ami system.

We offer these system upgrades, which will give you artist, album & track data on the screen when using apple devices.

If of interest, ping me a PM :)
