Ridiculous gear change!!

I’m at a crossroads with my 2015 S3. I love the looks, I love the spec, I’ve just retrofitted B&O so it sounds amazing however…..

the gear change from 1st to 2nd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd has me on the brink on selling it.
Many times have I looked like a first time driver doing a driving lesson when I take off. I simply can’t believe it is meant to be this way. I’m not new to the S3’s, this is my 3rd manual s3 in a row.
The best way to describe the problem is this:
If I were to get in to any other manual car, take off in 1st, push the clutch to the floor, shift in to second, then fully release the clutch pedal as fast as I possibly could causing a massive jerk…… that’s how my s3 changes gear from 1st.

When I bought the car I was convinced it was the flywheel not keeping the revs up when the clutch was engaged, many people thought the same, so I got a brand new genuine clutch and flywheel installed by Audi… … still the exact same.

It is possible to achieve a smoother gear change by feathering the clutch which also makes me sound like a lea

I really can’t believe that it is meant to be like this. I have read about a few other people on other forums who have experienced similar on their golf R’s. I’ve also removed a spring off the clutch pedal which supposedly helps but alas it didn’t.

if there was a way to smoothen out this gearchange I’d be a happy man, a way to keep the revs slightly up when shifting, or a way to make the clutch release a bit slower.

does anyone experience similar??

Dsg tcu tune would rid your probs immediately. TVS is the best out there.

Not sure on the s3 but I know a few folk with similar problems with diesels and dual mass flywheel change there’s to a single mass flywheel and it’s better but not a cheap job.

I read that you had the clutch and flywheel replaced, but have you taken it to an expert garage since then - perhaps a VAG indie or transmission specialist? As you say, it's well-spec'd and recently upgraded car. Most mechanical issues are fixable with some perseverance.

Yeah I might just do that. I’d really love to have a go in a different s3 just to compare.
