Hello!

New on this forum and thought I could start a project/mod thread/log for my B8.5 A4 avant!

About me:
24 yr old from Norway working as a survey engineer. Love everything automotive and none of the cars I've owned in the past stayed stock... I see a stock car as a clean slate and an excuse to do something about it :whistle2:

About the car:
- MY2013
- 2.0 tfsi
- Avant
- Quattro
- Manual gearbox
- S-line suspension, exterior and interior

I've already done some mods since buying it in may 2018 and the following pictures are from this period may 18- jan 19.

Test drive before buying

Fell in love with it and brought it home!

First mod: Tinting the tail lights. Later on I removed it again since I couldn't see **** when it was dark out and I needed my reverse lights :wtf:

The car was quick enough stock, but when there's more power available, I NEEEEED IT
Stage 2 REVO software and highflow cat was installed

Just a detail-pic of the downpipe/highflow cat showing how well made it is. This also amongst the cheapest alternatives :O ShedSkills in Russia welded it up.

Not a particular fan of chrome and as such the stock grille had to go

Fog light bulbs changed for some whiter ones (although still halogens)

Autocross trackday with a friend of mine (the blue BMW). Car handled surprisingly well considered it's size, weight, reputation and suspension setup (S-line)! I even managed to get some oversteer and beat my friend in the tuned and coilover-setup BMW... #Driversmod

Last up: Received AP coilovers bought secondhand from the UK today. Only used since april and driven 2000 miles. Will be installing them as soon as I find time and a place to do it

Looking good. What power do the 2.0 tfsi have?

Picture from yesterday when I took it to work (normally drive a company car) since it was right around 0 degrees celsius and the snow that came down became super slippery. Rather drive this with quattro then that Mercedes Citan (in reality a renault kangoo) in dodgy conditions!

It had to double as transport and utility though since I didn't bring the company car :racer:

don't think my car will see anywhere near as much snow. I hope you're on winter tyres?

This was just a light snowfall, nothing spectactular :p But the temperature being right around 0 degrees turns the snow into a slippery mess of snow and water.

And yes, it's on winter wheels, 16 inches .. Continental VikingContact tires (winter). It's mandatory to have winter tires when driving in snowy and icy conditions in Norway

Had this vacuum-actuated cutout laying around from an impulse buy some time ago and thought I'd install it yesterday ...
Car already had a resonator delete (2nd res), so I put the cutout where the resonator normally is since there is a big cavity there to put it in. Quite happy with the sound now. I can go stealth mode when wanted/needed, and pretty loud when wanted!

Actuator is actuated using a vacuum pump in the car running on 12v power and a silicone hose.

I put it in between the black circular frame-point with a bushing in it and the bend on the pipe on it's right on the picture. Normally a resonator sits here, but a res delete pipe had been fitted at an earlier point.

Pipe was removed from the car, cut out a piece at the length required to mount the Y-pipe in between and welded it into place:

Didn't take any pics with it mounted on the car, but I have some videos.
1st video: Open/closed valve on idle
2nd video: Closed valve launch
3rd video: Open valve launch

Got halfway through the job of tinting the rear lights (film) before I ran out ... Gonna get some more done today I think.

Good chance for a proper 50/50 though! When they're not lit I actually think the standard ones are fine, but when lit up, I think it looks better when tinted.

This is how it looked when I had spray-tint and they were lit. Looked clean!
