Thursday for mine.Revo stage 1 going on tomorrow, can't wait!![]()
Stage 2 very very soonWas hoping to have more parts on the car before the map but a mixture of errors and delays by suppliers, couriers and sellers means it will be a standard car apart from a filter upgrade.
Parts due to arrive - Forge IC, HG intake pipe, Milltek decat, Eibach Pro spring kit, Racingline Performance R360 wheels with 255x30 Ps4S all round and some small spacers required to clear brakes. It's hopefully going to be a very busy week!
Stage 2+ at some point...when is down to Revo.
The Revo wizard has been and worked his magic! Quite a difference!
They also asked me and admitted that Momentum was as good as VPower, just that VPower is known to be "more consistent". Not sure I believe that. I use Tesco Momentum as the nearest Shell garage is a fair few miles from me. It certainly hasn't affected the performance of my car. I would just stick with Momentum.Had a call from my Revo fitter asking what fuel I use.
Momentum I told him and asked why?
He said that he needed to know which setting to apply and also said that Revo recommended V Power so I'm gonna run down the Momentum and revert back to V Power at £1.47 per litre.![]()

That's kinda funny, MRC told me momentum is more consistant, backed up with the fact that shell garages are franchised, so you never know what they are doing with the fuel. They also asked me and admitted that Momentum was as good as VPower, just that VPower is known to be "more consistent". So as another couple of guys on here have recommended Revo for a stage 1 map, I went to Donington yesterday to visit Revo at the VAG Tuners event.
The guys on the stand were professional and knowledgeable and said that there was a 10% discount available if I registered with them. So I did.
Today I recieved my discount voucher which states that I have to book my car in before 05-08, something I cannot do as I have a previous medical appointment in Sweden so I explained my situation and asked Revo if they would extend the date until I came back as I would then know my movements over the next 6 weeks.
I was told that the date is fixed, 'so you need to get the software loaded by that date' and that it is a, 'solid date so don't miss the oppurtunity'.
After I had mentioned that I thought Revo were not being very flexible I was then told that, 'under normal circumstances', a month would be ample time to get the car upgraded.
My circumstances are anything but normal so I have informed Revo that I will not be buying their product as I felt the guys attempt to pressurise me into making an appointment was unprofessional.
Weird ain't it?
Sunday the guys at the event were brilliant and then on Monday a guy in the office is as helpful as a kick in the nads..
Shame that as the local Revo installers are only 6 miles from me and I get on really well with them.....

I also spoke to a guy on the revo stand same day and seemed to me he knew diddly squit, im just not convinced about revo, just saying
The Revo guys who do all of the development and testing know their stuff. The sales and marketing guys maybe not!

Mate I spoke to a Guy on that day from APR about some hardware and same same, didn’t have a ****** clue about anything!
Go with whoever you get that warm n fuzzy feeling from, there’s going to be nothing really in it at stage1 I would say. I’m stage1 with Revo and it’s outstanding and the customer service and advice etc has been spot on. Anybody can have an off day so I took my encounter with the APR guy with a pinch of the white stuff.
I'm fairly sure my fuel economy has improved, too. It's certainly no worse for those that are concerned fuel economy will be worse. So the run into work has shown me that,
1. The oil got to temperature quicker.
2. Averaged 32.8 mpg driving as I do for this journey, 28.8 before the map.
And 3. It goes proper well. It now feels like a quick car.
My foot is hardly touching the throttle at 77 mph and as soon as you press the throttle, it goes.
THIS is the car I thought I was getting when I bought it and it now feels fast so I'm a happy monopede today...![]()
Well I've got it back tonight and after only 6 miles I can feel the difference, it revs out rather rapidly..
Work run tomorrow so I'll have a far better feel for it all but so far, so good.
I'm gonna try a tank on Momentum change the map and try it on V Power and go with what I prefer.
Excellent job today from Louth Revo, fitted the upgraded washers too, a top top bloke is Jed..![]()
Without going off thread what was the outcome with v power if you have tested this to? Be interested to hear mate.I develop and test fuel additives for a living and have never seen momentum fall below 99 Ron on a D2699 test. It is my choice of fuel.
Mate glad to hear you pleased with the car, proper beast now lol.
Can you elaborate on the upgraded washers? I take it you mean the windscreen washers? I hate the ones on my RS3 there ****** useless and squirt the roof more than the windows.
More re fuel economy. Attached photo of my trip to work this morning. 18 mile journey on mixed roads, reasonably clear with just a bit of traffic at points. A blast down a slip road and cruising with traffic. So the run into work has shown me that,
