Just wondering what people's thoughts are on these. Tried a twintake and found it to be stupidly loud

Also where's the cheapest place to buy them?

Revo is very loud too. I'm considering replacing the filter part with something a little quieter.

In terms of airflow, the Revo,AMD and ITG are pretty much the current best but may not be the quietest.

You also have to remember that most of the screeching and whistling originates from the compressor section of the turbo on remapped engines.

The ITG on mine, plus a big turbo run well within its limits doesn't do any of that.

I've just fitted a Revo intake today and the noise is flipping great. I personally don't think it's too loud though, but I haven't had mine mapped yet!

Although it was a monstrous ballache to remove/attach to the turbo elbow to fit. But I don't have any weird screechy or whistling noises so it must be alright.

As you haven't had your car mapped yet the turbo will be run to manufacturers specs.

Oh I know, I just meant I don't think I've got any air leaks! Haha!

The screeching and whistling sounds usually arise from the compressor when run towards its limits resulting in surge.

You'd be very unlikely to hear any air leaks on the induction side.

Fair enough, well it's a ****** good intake anyway!

It is that.

If I didn't need a custom intake that would be on my list.

Just got revo intake fitted on my s3 today, you have to get used to the noises they make, flutters etc.. I like my car quiet like how it was standard.. But got to say revo intake sounds good..!

Reminds me of my old escort cosworth when I removed the airbox and fitted a ruddy great big K&N cone... Sounded like I had a cage if pigeons under the bonnet everytime I came off the throttle.

Knew I had this relic somewhere...
