Had a crack at retrofitting the memory seat switch to my cab today. Been following the diy on Audizone (part 1 and part 2) which is pretty comprehensive. Managed to get the door card off and fitted the switch along with a diy wire harness made up of repair wires that connects to the window/mirror regulator motor and the power wires in the door lock switch. The memory seat switch lights up which is good news! Getting the door card on was a pain, seems still to have not properly lined up by the tweeter speaker but I kinda gave up trying to perfect it in the end so there's a little gap. I'll need to try again some day.

I'm onto part 2 of the diy which involves tilting the driver seat back and unplugging the connections under the seat. Here is where I need help...
There is a red plug that I need to disconnect and then take out the red connector base to be able to add two new repair wires in the back of it. I got the red plug out ok but can't get the red base connector out. Has anyone ever taken out that red connector? The diy says to push to small screwdrivers down the sides. It must be clipped in somehow but for the life of me can't seem to pop it out. Limited space under the seat is not helping. Any advice welcome.

Will post my own diy on the technical area once it's all done and hopefully working. Gonna have another go at it in the morning.

    Few photos of progress below.

I think this is the photo from the audizone diy of the red connector block taken out. So im not sure which sides I need to work on and what technique needed to pull it out from the base.[IMG]

Ok I got the socket out, it pushes down once you open the tabs by pushing them away from the plug on the sides. You push it down and out the black holder then pull it up the the carpet gap at the side. Not much play in the wire so just enough to get it above to work on. Mine seems to have the 3 wires in the required pin slots already, according to the diy it's 5, 6 and 7. So in theory I guess the s4s have the wiring in place under the seat. Gonna put back togas see if this is working although I don't think it is yet, in which case I don't know why...[IMG]

I put everything back together as it appears my s4 has the wiring it needs.

Correction on the wires needed from above. It's the 6,7, and 10 (not 5) essentially supposed to have the orange/brown, orange/black, blue/green and green/black in the back of the socket.

Annoyingly though its not doing anything. The switch stop button lights up but when I press it, then hold down memo and a number it doesn't record/beep or move seats/mirrors after. I actually can't think why not as I'm pretty sure I put all the repair wires in the correct pin holes (per the diy) from the switch to the 32 pin plug in the regulator unit.

Anyone done this before and have any ideas what else I may need to do?

So not working yet. From reading as many posts as I can from various forums it could be that I need one more wire between the black T10 plug of the window motor door card (pin 10) through the bellows/connection grommet and into the T20 plug (pin 4) sat behind the trim on the right side of the driver's foot. That T20 pin 4 is the one that connects to the under driver seat red plug pin 10 (green/black) and hopefully will make it work. Annoyingly thought that connection would already have been there since the green/black wire is already in place from the red plug to the T20 and didn't check when I had the door card off. Perhaps Audi just don't fit that wire in the door harness if the memory seat options weren't ticked. Need a dry day and some spare time to give that a go. Hopefully soon.

Photo of door wires at the grommet connection. Can't see a green/black wire there so assuming nothing is going to the motor T10 pin 10.

yes, I found the same, non cabs use a different loom again for memory option plus a controller for each seat.
    thanks for the reply.

Would anyone know if the memory harness and module can be swopped over from left to right side driver seat? And still work? Or are they side specific

as I bought euro left side driver seats and now lost my memory function in the car coz all the bits are on my passenger seat lol
