replacing bulb in centre brake light.......is it straight forward

ive just realised my centre brake light isn't working what are they like for replacing??

Should it have shown up as a fault when ignition is turned on??

Just remembered the high level brake light is LED and therefore is most unlikely to stop working altogether.

Much more likely that the connector or some part of the wiring has come loose/been damaged somehow.

I think you can remove the rear portion of the headlining to get at it. Check if there is voltage at the connector - if not then it's the wiring somewhere.

the plastic trim on the inside of the tailgate must be removed to gain access to high level light, as mike has said its led in design, and if all electrical connections are ok, the unit will need replaced etc, hth
