Hi everyone, need some help please.
I have an Audi A3 8V 2015.
The power board in the MIB unit died. (Audi quoted me $10k for this, so it's not an option).
I replaced the MIB unit, I previously had 8V0035045C.
I got myself an aussie 8V0035045B.
Now the interesting bit, is that the unit I got is not from a wrecker, and was never on a car, it's brand new. which is weird, but so be it.
I was expecting to see the component protection pop up when I plug it in, and then to head to Audi to remove the component protection, and I'm all good to go.
However, I plug it in, and surprise, it worked, and no pop up. But I did get a message that "car systems not available".
I tried resetting it, no change. Any ideas? I'm a bit lost here. photos attached.

Thats not going to work in your vehicle without A LOT of works. I would remove this unit and sell it in order to source the correct unit, part number and region, for your car.

Oh I'm from Australia. so it's the right region for me... and it's almost the same model... just slightly older, but it's not like it has any aditional features or anything. All the connectors are the same, and the front is the same as well. I'm not adding a SIM connectivity or anything like that...

If the replacement unit does not have the same part number, or does not have a part number that is within your vehicles design database, then you will have issues with coding this in correctly via the correct replacement procedure, which takes care of:

- the anti-theft component protection
- Coding of the unit as per factory specifications
- adaptation of the unit as per factory spec
- parameterisation of the unit as per factory spec

and most importantly the restoration of your feature licences like navigation and bluetooth which will turn off if not restored.

Almost the same model, ie same number but different letter can cause issues. Seek the assistance of a local specialist who can assist / test.
