remove prop shaft to fit down pipe ?

hi i followed the forums advice and bought the toyospports down pipe for mt a3 tqs and went to get it fitted at kwickfit and they said they wouldnt touch it as they would have to remove the prop shaft.
is this right ? and is there any way around it?

also just a quick question, the pipe on the top of my dv wasnt tight would this cause any problems?
