They all came with remote locking, you just haven't got the right key. You need to go to Audi and have one coded and cut.

I say this, but I may be wrong. Somebody correct me if I am.

Everything depends what central locking pump you have. You can easily check that when you connect your car to vcds and go to channel 35 central locking.

There is the number starting 8L0 and ending with a letter.

If you don't have vcds you gonna have to take that pump out of you car to check. The pump is located on passenger side tail lamp where the subwoofer is.

Check that first then I can tell you what to do next.

you still can check it with vagcom as long I get that number then I can help. Once you connect you car go to channel 35 and tell me what the number vag gave you.

That's the one.

And I'm affraid your pump does not accept remote locking. All you gonna have to do is replace that pump with letter ending

8L0 862 257 DWA and remote (433,92 Mhz)

8L0 862 257 B DWA and remote(315 MHz)
8L0 862 257 D just remote(433,92 Mhz)

8L0 862 257 G DWA and remote(433,92 MHz)

8L0 862 257 K just remote(433 MHz)

8L0 862 257 M DWA and remote(315 MHz)
8L0 862 257 N DWA and remote(315 MHz)

But first you have to check that you have an aerial. There is two different types 315MHz and 433MHz. To check it that use your vagcom and try to type 8192 in coding to activate. Your car should blink once. Or also you can check it on central locking pump. The aerial should be connected in PIN 1 and 7 in socket C.

8L0 900 433 - aerial part no. for central locking pump 433MHz:
-8L0862257
-8L0862257D
-8L0862257G
-8L0862257K
-8L0862257Q
-8L0862257P
-8D0862257
-8D0862257B

8L0 900 315 - aerial part no. for central locking pump 315MHz:
-8L0862257B
-8L0862257M
-8L0862257N

Once you check that and you confirm you have an aerial then you just swaping pump and coding new key to it.

Hi that pump seems ok, but I mentioned about aerial as well - have you got it??? If not you won't be able to open a car using remote key.

Check the socket C (small black socket) for pins 1 and 7. If there is none then you'll need to get 1.

So going by that I have 8l0 862 257 H
Your saying that does t support remote locking?? How ever if I get one of the above it's a case of remove refit and I can programe a 2 button remote fob and I'll have remote central locking correct?

To make sure for refit please check socket C for pin 1 and 7 If you have them then yes it should work after programming.

Hello Danio , i readed this forum and seems you realy know a lof of AUDI :) . I need some help about central locking door . I have AUDI A4 AVANT 1.9 TDI 85KW PD 2001 year facelift model . My problem apears suddenly . A cant remote open doors ,just manualy driver doors and when i do that the other door stay locked . I also cant lock unlock doors with button on driver doors . My electric windows dont work and also interior lights dont work . only rearview mirrosrs working . U suspect on central locking pump (Can it be something else ??) . The number on it is 8L0 862 257 Q . I was searching on audi dealers pump for my car by chassis number and they say to me that for my car chassis number goes 8L0 862 257 ( no letter pump) . I found that this pump is produced 1996-1997 with limited funcstions(my car is 2001 year) ? A have 3 buttons keys fob and i was able to open trunk and electric windows up and down and when lock unlock side lights blinks . Will i have those funcstions on 8L0 862 257 this with no letter ? Is it possible that previoous owner changed that pump to newer or audi dealers may be wrong ? What is the diference bettwen Q and no Q ?? Thank you very much .
