Hi guys,

I live in Nottingham and have just bought a 2003 S3 8L. It's due a cambelt change & needs a few other bits doing to it. I'm not a main dealer fan (it's just a flashy neon sign & nice looking receptionist as far as I can see) but I also don't want to take it to a back-street garage. I look after my cars & want a good job doing by someone who knows what they're doing.

So can anyone recommend a good independent specialist in the area? Doesn't have to be very close to me - I'd rather travel to a good place for a good job than get a shoddy job done close to home.

APS Brackley - Excellent. Did my Cambelt service last year. Can't fault them, and Ed is great on the phone. Will definitely use them again if there is anything I can't do myself.

I use Volkspeed there a VAG specailist and are really good on price plus still looks good with the receipts and in serviec book when you come to sell it on, there based near Heanor been taking mine there for the last 3 years

RSD in Daventry, northamptonshire (VAG specialist). Danny Whitrow (owner is a genius when it comes to VAGS) Been using them for the past 10 years and they've been spot on. He's from a VAG Motorsport background!!!!!

APS all the way! Can't fault Ed and the guys, I travel quite a distance to them and they are well worth the trip. They really look after your car like they're own there, and completely honest guys. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

Have also used APS - also excellent.

Awesome Gti - good, but a little more expensive.
