I used the 'detailer' by BD which was excellent but I have a feeling they won't deliver to me at work again (to difficult for them for whatever reason) so I think I'll have to use something else. I used to buy chemical guys drying aid but I since using the BD one I want something like it. You literally do a light spray on a panel or glass and wipe it once and job done with no drips.

Did you ever use CG Hybrid V7? Don't rate a lot of CG products but that is still one of my favourites.

I mix it with Sonax BSD to give it better durability too.

@DrEskimo - Used to use CG Hybrid V7 with CG Blacklight sometime a go and fell outta love with it
Heard great things about the BSD/Hybrid 7 mix

Don't fancy sending me a 50ml sample of Hybrid V7 for a 50ml sample of Bouncers Done & Dusted do you my friend?

PS & shouldn't your username be Dr Inuit lol

Sonax, is pretty good, That is if you like the evil stuff.
Personally I wouldn't let detailing sprays within a hundred yards of any of my vehicles.....

But that's just my opinion.

How come? Doesn't it give a bit of extra protection when drying

I certainly could do, except I've mixed all my V7 in with BSD! If I can find a small 50ml spray bottle I can give you a sample of V7/BSB mix?

Ha, probably...is Eskimo not PC? :whistle2:

They're all almost pure silicon, which is quite good when put on a dirty car as the silicon envelopes the dust paricles partly preventing scratches, so much loved by show and shine. But it contaminates your paint or wax or whatever. It never gives your car a smooth feel, attracts dirt like a magnet but is hydrophobic so repels water.

Would I use them on my car, never ever............. but that's just my opinion. Some people seem to love them.....

T'is surely true, there's no real rights or wrongs. Thankfully we are all quite different which is what makes life special.

There's 7.4 billion of us on this round blob hanging in space travelling at 67,000 miles an hour with a rotational speed of 1,000 miles an hour and yet no two are the same.

Frightening..............

In fact I'll take back what I said as apparently there is a considerable number of silicone free detailers out there. But the rest is still true.

'Ok do in my opinion a QD is the Swiss army knife of any range....

We are talking here about a QD rather than a spray sealant.

1) A QD can be used as a drying aid, a couple of spritzes on the towel then a couple on each panel really helps.

2) A QD can be used as a cleaner for rogue water spots after drying, bird bombs and light dust

3) A QD can be used as a gloss enhancing product

4) A QD can be used to provide some protection and a top up to existing LSP's

There are other uses like as a primer for a polishing pad, an aid to wax/polish removal and even a interior dressing.

Have a look at the following reviews which might answer any questions.

So the answer is, don't leave home without one'

'Like the polished bliss site explains it was first created to be used as a waterless wash but over the years it became all sorts:
- light dust and body oil (finger marks) cleaner
- water mark remover
- light protectant that lasts a few days to a spray sealant that lasts a few months (although the last ones to me are not considered to be QD- BSD and such)
- gloss enhancer
- interior cleaner
- drying aid
- clay lube
- window cleaner
- bird poo remover
- fresh bug splatter (not after a month) remover
- pad primer...

But mainly it is used after a wash as a drying aid to add lubrication to the drying towel. At the same time it also removes any left shampoo residue and water spots making the car appear glossier and thats why we love it.'

Andy F

@Andy F I have two bottles in the garage. I wouldn't use it as a QD or s drying aid. It's two thick and messy. When I've used it the cars been pretty much clean. I simply use it to top up the protection a little. It's a decent product but I wouldn't use it on a filthy car even though it says you can do. Too much hard work to get it off.

Thanks Scottyg in NEVER CLEAN without water .

This stuff works well and can be sourced from many outlets at a good price. It does pretty much all of the things that @Bristle Hound stated in post #15. Its main purpose is to be used as a drying aid, but is great across so many other applications at its price point. Smells great as well !

Autosmart seem to do some good stuff, but where can you buy it??? I read that the ebay ones can be fake products!!!

Autosmart don't sell to the public only to the trade. You can get hold of your local franchise by going onto to the Autosmart section on Detailing World.

I've used a couple of Autosmart retailers on Fleabay and had no issues. AutoRocket & Millaisoultions being a couple.
