Received my a4 and one thing really let me down

Hmm I though with the b9 there is only 2 passive suspensions. Comfort and sport?

I find the s line suspension settles down on the motorway. When cruising at motorway speeds, you wouldn't know it has firm suspension. (And you can construe 'motorway speeds' in whatever way you wish!)

Does it need a 4 wheel alignment how are the tyres wearing?

Got another appt Saturday for second look.

However, actually think this is normal. Roads are not great here but I can handle the low speed ride.

It's the high speed ride that bothers me. On non perfect B roads or even motorways I usually get a constant rumble, vibration with fairly hard bump with any chance is surface.

I would have expected a motorway cruiser like this to handle high speed with more comfort , even on sports suspension.

Was looking at costs for trade in or suspension changes and neither is pretty.

It does, in my opinion and others it does it much better than any other car I have driven. Also, in fact a test has shown the only quieter car is a Bentley at 1db less...

Saw Audi today.

The master technician agreed he felt it was surprisingly firm and that he had experience of loads of a4s.

However nothing was found wrong with it in the inspection and there is nothing they can do.

Looks like the end of the line. I'm looking into trading it down.

Not so good. Had a colleague at work who's just changed his car (not Audi) as he suffered from a sore back on trips longer than an hour. Think it was more the angle of the seat rather than the suspension, but the point is it's worth changing if you're not happy.

Anyway - does next car have to be new? Check out A4 Avant Allroad (B8.5). Very comfortable ride and plenty low mileage examples out there fully loaded with extras. Good luck.

Thanks man,

I'm actually taking one last punt and having an independent opinion from well respected Local Audi specialist. He's going to take a longer test drive and a longer look underneath. He will also price up a change to comfort setup.

I don't mind second hand but you simply don't save any money on finance until they are 3 or 4 years old these days.

I really wish I had picked the all road or at least comfort/ adaptive.

It's annoying cos my timing was perfect as I got 17 plate and missed the tax and price rises and also got 8.5k off

This just kills it though no matter how much I try to ignore it
