    Hello Everyone,

    I have a 2016 A4 B9. I am having problems with the rear wiper jets as they clogg very easier. When it was in for its MOT with Eastbourne Audi they unclogged them but two months later they were clogged again. Now one seems to work (I tried to clear the holes with a needle) but the other isn't and I'm not sure that they is water coming out of the electric boot opening handle when I have used them. Has anyone had this problem? I'm not sure this will be covered under my Audi extended warranty. I have had a few issues with this car in just over two years of ownership and worried this might ****** any electrics in the boot handle area.

    For many years VAG cars have had problems with the Valeo made rear wiper motors - I was under the impression that the situation had been cured for more recent cars like yours - but perhaps not??

    The problem is that the water passes through a shaft which goes through the wiper mechanism itself. The seals in the system seem suspect and as a result water leaks into the mechanical gear case for the wiper turning the grease into a messy "mud" which clogs the system and also gets into the electrics causing erratic wiper activity and the wiper typically parking anywhere across the rear screen. The water in the wiper gear case will typically leak and evidence itself at the bottom of the rear hatch.

    Your jets may be blocked - although this is not a known particular problem OR the lack of water at the jets may denote a leak with water being instead pumped into the wiper mechanism.

    When I bought my car it was 4-years old and the rear wiper motor was already in the process of failing - the replacement is still OK.

    Thank you for the response. I got a replacement jet so will try this first but I may book it in with Eastbourne anyway.

    Are you using Audi approved washer fluid?

    Would you like to detail your response? Non approved fluid is known to clog jets but for some reason you decided to focus on wiper motors in another model. No one else in this forum has posted any issues with water penetrating the wiper mechanism..

    Is that before or after it melts the glass and causes the special A4 wipers to self destruct? :glee::glee:

    That sounds quite preposterous but I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

    My rear washer was unclogged/replaced a month ago and is now blocked again. I used autoglym fluid, undiluted.

    I have 2 queries;

    1) how do I unblock the jets myself?

    2) which fluid to use in the future?

    Thanks!

    My old A5 clogged up when using aftermarket fluid, I couldn't believe it but it is a known problem. Only use the oe G052164M2 stuff now and no issues since with all my vag cars.
