Hi Guys,

I have just replaced the rear pads and discs on my 2014 A6 C7. I don't remember the last time they were done but I am sure glad I did. The driver side one was almost metal to metal. The strange thing is that I didn't get any warnings on the dashboard, like you would when the wear sensor touches the disc.

I purchased a set of pads and discs. The discs came with new screws and the pads had clips and sensors with them. I did the passenger side first rather quick. When I came to do the drivers side, while I was putting it back I realised there was no connector for the wear sensor. The pads had a cut out and the sensor was ready to be put in. I just couldn't find it. Should there not be one on either side? If it should, where the funk has it gone?! I couldn't see the connector or the clip for it.

Thanks, Ash

Only one side was wired up when I did my A7. Must be the way things have gone.
Cost cutting!

Is that normal though?! I could have been driving around metal on metal which was almost the case. The driver side had worn quite a bit but the passenger side still had about 3-4mm left. Could this mean something else?

It does sound like a sticky/seized Caliper to me. Worst case would be a new caliper. I had one done 3 months ago on warranty, came to £300 I think (Electric rear brakes).
Easy enough fix though!

That's what happened with mine, it was ****** metal on metal in the end! What a rubbish idea. Anyway, I have managed to get a VCDS log of the error with the rear brakes, maybe someone else has seen it and can shed some light on it.
