Rear Air Vent/12v Socket

is it possible to add one of these to an audi a3 8v that currently doesnt have a 12v socket ?

There’s a post on here that goes into this. You can get a cover that also includes 1 or 2 (can’t remember which) USB charging points.
I think the post details the processes involved.

I swapped mine for a pair of USB ports it is covered here...

I suggest you pry off what you have there.

They are readably available on eBay, there is also a kit avalible if you are missing the air vent too ...

Found that post, thanks for your help.

My only concern is that i currently don't have a 12v socket in the rear or USB ports and was wondering if i remove the rear air vent will there be existing wiring behind it already ? enabling me to retrofit myself.

Hy mate, have you checked if you have any cables behind it? I would like to do the same to my A3...

There will be no cables there. You need to add wires to socket supply at front or buy kit as in link below.
