Seems a silly question I know.. but I was sold my car as a dsg and always had no reason to ask otherwise

My mate questioned it as he has an auto s4 his shifter and paddles look exactly the same

On my v5 it says audi a3 tdi sport auto..
But apparently it's had a dual mass flywheel but only says that on bit of paper so no real proof..

Mines an a3 140 tdi sport 2004 car
Is there a way of telling? It shifts quickly can be real jerky at slow maneuvering speeds like a clutch going in and out and speed increases with revs not revs go up and speed catches but.. is there a right way of telling?

Pretty sure it's dsg.. euro car parts search says car needs dsg oil. But how do I actually tell is there a specific code on the sticker Inot boot or anything
Also when in manual changing down to 2nd or 1st is really jerky .. again making me think it is dsg

Thanks
Pete

multitronic

its not DSG
its a multitronic.

google it when working good they should be silky smooth, No jerking at any speeds.

the gear stick

google dsg pictures you will tell

@hades- no pq35 car came with multitronic

the gearstick design doesn't make a difference.

your gearbox code in the boot on the data sticker in the spare wheel well or inside your service book will tell you whats what.

dsg on the right

multi aka CVT on the left (lhd) but same as yours

gearstick design doesn't come into play, its either dsg or tiptronic, no pq35 car came with multi, look at my post above and post up the gearbox code.

Thanks i was having trouble finding a definitive answer of how to tell..

Thanks again

Do a fluid and filter change and see if anything changes, its meant to be done every 39k miles.

Get a specialist to do it as it requires specific oil and specific filling procedures.

Yes you can change it, there are a few guides online.

Best ringing round as pricing may vary.

Sorry just realised that made no sense.. Predictive text grrr

It was how much should I expect to pay to have it done..
Thanks
