radio code

hi
my a3 didn't come with the right book pack, so i asked audi if there had a record of it and if they could tell me, they said the car would need to be plugged in and be read.

i have vcd's lite registered can this read the code??

its a consert 2 radio cassette with cd changer, a3 quattro 2001

i was under the impression if it was the original head unit the car came with it would be free.

You need to send the radio number & the chassis number on-line to Germany, then they send the code back, don't think you can do it with Vagcom, you need a GEKO code.
