found a set of rotiform for good money

8.5j 18 inch et45
Will these protrude ?

Many thanks

Rake

They might, if it was 7 1/2" with that offset it would fill the arches nicely.
Just checked with my son, he has the same on his A3, fit fine.

Thanks Jake

These are Radi8 R8B12 used @ £600 so seem like a good value set of wheels.

Would be a shame to buy and find out they don’t fit so will hang out for another opinion if you are unsure.

Thanks for replying

Jake when you say same - do you mean 8.5j ?

My son's A3 with same size and offset.

Sweet thank you. Now to negotiation as new price is £650

His tyres give -4% difference do not really useful to me.

Thanks again

If he has 7.5j then different to these 8.5j’s

Here's 8J ET45. Front sit nice. Rear might tolerate a little more out. Lowered on VWR springs (345 mm from the wheel center to the fender)

S line RS upgrade fs number

Here's 8J ET42. I think it's a limit on the front. The rear looks fine and can be 2-3 mm out without an issue. I'm on Eibach Pro on this pic (350 mm from the wheel centre to the fender). Just add half of 0.5 inch to this track width to each side.

ET50 with 8 mm spacers 4

19-inch x 8J ET50 (8P0601025CP) rims were on the 8P RS3 with a 235/35 front tyre and 225/35 rear tyre. Some cars couldn't handle a 235 rear without rubbing - mine does, just.

An optional 19-inch x 8.5J ET53 (8P0601025CM) rim was available with a 255/30 tyre but for the front only.

Here are 2-diagrams that might help: a) for the 8J rim and b) for the 8.5J rim - use your ET dimension to suit.

ET 80J ET 85J

I think your proposed 8.5j 18 inch ET45 rims sure will foul/protrude : 7.5 J or 8J a much better bet as shown above.

Thanks all.

I guess I have to accept that 8.5 ET 45 might not be right then.

I’m sure I’ve seen or read posts that suggest they would be ok depending on tyre stretch / profile but I see what you guys mean.

Shame as those radi8’s were mint.
