Thanx Simon. Got them from AliExpress. Cheap oem lookalike. They are LHD with dead pedal flat, not curved like We have in RHD so am cutting the footrest to fit. Pedals are ok and easy to fit but would recommend strong glue to secure them in place. Brake one came off few times on me already during the drive. To get the OEM rubber ones off it was a battle. These pedal cover were for the LHD vehicles but it is sightly different to the A6 anyway. Clutch pedal is plastic and cover have rubber lip around to stay more secure. Brake pedal is metal and should have cut out in the middle to allow rubber grommet from the cover fit into it, in order to secure the cover properly but it doesn’t. The grommet “plug” on the cover had to be cut out. There’s no rubber lip around the brake pedal cover, only sides and bottom. This is why it kept sliding during braking. Acceleration pedal is not curved properly so had to bend it slightly. Glued it all and it stays in place now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In the process of removing plasti dip off the front grille From matt black to black gloss. Many honeycombs left to clean off but main part is showing up nicely. Rings got a lick of silver matt dip and will be back on soon. While had a bumper off to remove the grille, I've painted the crash bar and the pipe beneath it in black so it doesn't show too much. Gave an engine cover a clear lacquer coat to give it a shine. Pics to follow, once the whole job is done. Also, found an original plastic key to my car by the bonnet hinges, where all rubbish and leaves go. Wanted to clear this a bit to avoid drain clog and it was just there. Cheers, Sean. They're good quality. Tough plastic. Had no negatives about mine. Cannot say same about chrome surround one as mine was all gloss black. If you decide to go for one, cut out all the cross pieces behind the grille for more clean RS look. I've left it and regret it now. And recently had the bumper off. Just finished cleaning the grille and got all back together. Rings look fresh and number plate back where it looks best. Fog light grilles got a clear lacquer on, for gloss finish and lamps have a "chameleon" film. Just testing it as not sure if I like it. Fitted few days ago an air horn and connected it temporarily instead of the main horns. Longer horn have a blast but not as loud I was expecting. Probably would need a proper air tank and compressor system to have the same effect like lorries. Also, quick honk is not as responsive. Kinda expected that. Don't think I would find easily use of dedicated button for the horn fitted elsewhere. Once you want to blast someone with that horn, you move your handstraight away to the middle of the steering wheel. Will see how it perform on longer run Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
@KrisKrk hello Mate, what's your experience with number plate LEDs? Have the ones you fitted held up ok? I'm having a nightmare!
Go for the genuine ones from TPS or the dealers. The aftermarket ones are too bright anyway (IMHO). They still flash when car does its bulb check, but don't give a bulb warning and the flash isn't as noticeable as they are not too bright.
Any idea what the damage is the ones from TPS? So far I've had a set from China which did last about 9 months, a set from trups which never really worked properly. Is TPS a website? Is it the ones for the A5 that you order? Not read into this for a while
Mines are still working without any problem. To get bulb check sorted, I've installed the relay with resistor and "Bob's your uncle". It's going to be a year or more now they work. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
I don't know how much the genuine ones are new as I bought mine second hand off B5Nut. I think they may be about £15 each. If you have a look through B5Nut's build thread I think he has the part numbers there. I don't think TPS (Trade Parts Specialists) are on the web, they supply VAG parts to local garages in their areas. No problems with bulb out warning although as I say they do still flicker when the lights are off, but as they are not so bright as the aftermarket versions they are not too noticeable during the day.

I've put relay with 20W 8Ohm resistor. Worked on number plate leds but on reverse ones gets funny. They work perfectly, no flash but during the day light can throw an error soon as you select reverse gear. At night and in low light all is fine. Recently, I've replaced failing tailgate struts with slightly longer and stronger ones. Used 500mm 690nm struts from C5 1997-2005 A6. Tailgate opens bit higher and faster. Have to use more force also to shut it. Planning on to use die springs on the strut pistons to allow auto spring out boot opening from the key fob. Good work mate, you don't stop! I've not cleaned mine in about 6 months and you got 3 or 4 little mods in! Looking good anyway and the auto boot sounds like a great little mod. A lot of people done this with the MK3 mondeo

Just finished passenger headrest re thread with red stitching as done drivers one two days ago. As I have removed rear head rests due to car seats at the back, I will do these anyway. All match up now with front arm rest, steering wheel and gear gaitor. Will take a picture of them fitted shortly and move on to rear arm rest. Although I would love to have seats re threaded also to all match up but don't think I would put them back together as they were. Maybe one day ... Sent from H P20 PRO
Didn't work out Springs tad too long and it doesn't allow boot to close, just by the latch. Ehhh Will phone the company I got them from to get the replacement asap. These are Medium Load springs but one manages to pop the tailgate right up so think I will down grade them to Light Load. Will check the spring out force shorter ones have and decide then. Tbc ... Due to upcoming MOT, an air horn has been relocated. Not as visible through the grille as I thought it will be and not as "in your face" like it was before. Still due to wire up with on/off latch switch somewhere in the cab. Don't know where yet. Sent from H P20 PRO
Why are you bothered about the air horn for the MOT? Shouldnt be an issue. My 205gti came with similar air horns from the factory. Steve
Can't you trouble for non standard horn? That was my designated spot for it from the start but installed it to test it in the engine bay. Was too much visible for my liking. Your gti must've sounded nice, then. Sent from H P20 PRO
Got the replacements today. To be safe, I've ordered the Blue-Medium Load and Green-Light Load springs in required size 20mm x 44mm x 10mm rod. Green springs are 30N/mm and Blue ones 47.5N/mm each. Glad I got the both as Green ones turned out to be sufficient and I have got a boot pop now Blue springs could've been too strong and cause damage to the tailgate, hinges or the car body. Unless someone have weaker gas struts/pistons, these would not be useful. Wrong springs will be returned to the supplier, as don't need them and they would either end up in dumpster or in the tool box forever. They quite cheap but just don't want to waste them. Finished wheel clean, seal and calipers+hubs repaint. Hammerite Silver paint with hammered effect and wheels washed, bled and sealed. Will try to be on top of them with occasional spray/shine product. Sent from H P20 PRO

Fitted the camera last night. Hardwired to near side fuse box. Easy install, just getting the cables through the head lining, tailgate trim and B-pillar. Now, to set it all up as it supposed to be. Also added little detail on the front silver trim. Sent from H P20 PRO
This one was really quick. 10 minutes job and that flexi/rubber lip thing on the bumper was on. Instead spending crazy money for the splitter, less than £9 got me same result.
