Hi all,
I currently have the stock (and ugly) wheels on my 2008 A3 1.8t dsg6. Assuming that the data in wheel-size.com is correct, below are their stats:

Tire Rim Bolt pattern THD CB

205/55R16 6.5Jx16 ET50 5x112 M14 x 1.5 57.1

(The size is correct, its the offset I'm not entirely sure about)

I've found someone selling his 2015's A3 17" rims for a decent price and was wondering if it would be OK to replace them.
Here goes the 17" stats:
Tire Rim Bolt pattern THD CB
225/45R17 7.5Jx17 ET51 5x112 M14 x 1.5 57.1

As you can see, the 17" offset is +1mm. What I would like to know is if its OK and in general how different can the offset be from the original one?

I'm also attaching pictures of both of them.
Thank you.

Better stick to manufacturer specified sizes, not compare to your current rims. Original, stock A3 8P 17" rims sizes are 7.5J ET56 (everything else (PCD, CB etc.) is same, of course). So the only thing that differ to these 2015's is a bit more offset: ET51 vs ET56. Pushing rims 5mm out is not so much so you will be perfectly fine with new wheels. They look nice by the way!

I'm pretty sure the centre bore is different on the newer a3's though
No they are the same, the only difference is the newer rims have a slightly lower offset at ET51.
I have some 8v rims on mine with 10mm spacers, lowered on coilovers and it doesn't rub

Thanks everyone for the replies. The most important thing for me is that this change wouldnt affect(damage) my car whatsoever

I have A4 wheels & 225/17/45 tyres 17" x 7 1/2" ET45 and they are flush with the wheelarch lip. Yours will be 6mm further in to the wheelarch but will fit fine.

Check the centre bore is either the same or bigger, if bigger you can buy some reducers for a snug fit on the hub lip.
