Hi, I am thinking about getting a Quantum Remapper tool for my 2017 A6 C7 2.0 tdi 190 s-tronic. Has anyone got any expereince of using the Quantum Remapper to rerogramme the ECU through the OBD port and what has your experience been to date in terms of performance, fuel economy etc?

Quantum appears to be at the top of their game. Thanks

@GlennP I’ve not heard of Quantum before but would you not be better off just getting a remap by Revo or another tuning company ? Or does this come with a preinstalled map for your car ?

Hi Bulldog, you copy your standard ECU Map and then upload it and send it to them. They then remap it, send it back and you upload through the OBD port. The benefits are that you can use the tuning tool/box to switch between the two maps for servicing etc.

Your car will still show it’s been remapped. I believe there is some sort of counter

Thanks. Possibly. I have heard a lot of different stories about remapping but At least I can put it back to stock at any time of my choosing.

I will wait to see if I can get some more information from other forum members. I am hoping that someone has used one. if all is positive I will order it and keep you posted. The company seems to get good reviews in general. I contacted them with a few questions and got a fast reply.

Thanks that’s good to know. They seem to have a wide dealer network and many small tuning companies use their tech/maps. This gives some comfort on the company. Hopefully someone will have used their remapper “personal vehicle programmer” and be able to comment

Hi yes there are a few including SA tuning. Have you used Revo or any experience of their maps?

I've worked with revo and they have a long standing good reputation especially with VAG tuning, they actually get the factory maps per VIN from VAG, so the remap you receive is for your car

I've had a superchips remap installed via bluefin, no issues, good performance improvement and very easy to install

I’ve narrowed my options on the 313ps down to #trutune (satuning) or quantum remapper.
Satuning quote 720nm and quantum quote 754nm.

    quantum costs £100 less.

    any thoughts?

    Hi Audidi,

I was going to wait a couple weeks before updating the stream. I also did a bit of research and I came to a similar conclusion. I narrowed it down to the truetune by SAtuning and Remapper by Quantum. The two companies both appear to be very reputable and were very quick in answering a number of questions. The systems both appeared easy to use for a mere novice like myself. The outputs of both maps are also very similar for my car. To be honest the Quantum remapper came out on top for me and it was down to it being £100 cheaper than the SATuning truetune.

So far, I can't fault the service from the Quatum Team. They have been very responsive and the support has been excellent. I uploaded the remap to the car several days ago. What I would say is that the dash lit up like a christmas tree with faults, but dont panic as it seems logical that this would happen with any new remap given that you are removing software and writing a new software map to your ECU. The upload took about ten minutes or so but after clearing the faults and driving the car, the faults have all gone and I have definately noticed a difference in power. I feel that it took me a day or so to get used to it but I have no complaints so far. I am not an expert (learning as I go) and I only tend to be heavy on the right foot when its needed and generally drive conservatively. However, I would say that the car is definately quicker from standing start and the mid range tends to pull really well in both standard and sport modes.

I filled the tank shortly after the remap and there appears to be little difference in MPG. I probably need to run a few tanks through and get the car out on the open road before commenting fully.

Let me know what you go for and how you get on. Speak later

    Thanks Glenn.
I will definitely post back what my experience is.

Is yours a Bitdi? Can you feel the torque increase?

the quantum torque increase looks high compared to others, obviously this might run the risk of wearing out the clutch/gearbox quicker

my C6 was remapped by superchips and i noticed a decrease in full consumption over time, i think when you first get it you are always playing with the new performance

I have a 2.0 TDI 190. The gains for my car are +35 BHP and +72 NM. I can definately notice the difference in the torque. It is delivered fairly smoothly through the range. The Bi-Turbo I am sure has good torque. I am guessing that you will get good gains and will notice the difference. Keep us all posted on how you get on.

Quantum do 3 remap choices for 'most' cars. Red-High performance, Green- Good power and economy and Blue- good power and Max economy. Which one did you go for?

Hi Mo-S3, I was advised by Quantum to go for the Blue map as I was wanting a bit more performance and fule economy. I also want to be sure that it is not to much for my driving style. I would suggest that you call them or drop them an email to get some advice on the right map to suit your needs. They tend to get back quickly to emails.

Hi AndyT306 I cant seem to reply to your post. I discussed the claims with Quantum guys as I wanted to be sure that the remap would be within engine tollerence and they said that it is within The SA Tuning truetune map and some of the others I researched also have similar claims of BHP and NM therfore, I was taking it that this is a standard for remaps (except their red map which appears to be more agressive).

    Hope this helps.
