Pump noise after turning car off when hot

Hi all,

Might be a stupid question but just got my '99 S3 and when i turn it off and it's hot I can hear liquid running near the front of the bonnet. Could this be some sort of after run pump, I'm not yet familiar with the S3 motor so this is probably a noob quesiton.

Yes... S3's have an after run pump thats runs for around 10mins after the engine is turned off

Keeps coolant circulating around the turbo to preserve it's life.
