Proud new owner of an A4!

Hey guys!

I just picked up my beautiful '06 plate Audi A4 S-Line TDi (140) on Monday and felt compelled to join a forum to bleat about how much I like it! It's a real beauty in Garnet Red which has tremendously low mileage; only 33470 on the clock, and barely a mark on it.

I come to the A4 after having some pretty horiffic problems with my once-beloved MG ZT CDTi and am hoping that my new bit of German metal will fare better in the reliability stakes!

welcome to the site and a dub A4 - there will be no turning back now, your car looks well tidy, i have just swapped a 2004 model A4 for a 57 plate tdi 140 - no complaints as yet - (silver one in the garage section) running 19" alloys. Jay

Did you put the tow bar on or was it there already? (its a tell-tale sign as to how much the engine has been dragging around)

Hey Sam,

The towbar was on it already. I'm not particularly worried about it as I've been told that it was an old couple that owned it previously and occasionally lugged a very small caravan around to go on their hols. The car has definitely not been thrashed, that's for sure.

The only thing is, no matter how hard I've tried, I can't seem to remove the towbar. It's got a key and a locking mechanism but I've got a feeling that it's rusted on - I'm taking it to a towvar specialist at the weekend to see if they can remove it.
