Project S3 FUM build .

car porn this thread for sure! did you protect those rotor hubs with some POR or hammerite? My only issue with the RS3 grill mod is the fog light surrounds. I followed the advice of others and had them painted gloss black to match. I really like that combination. The short plate is perfect. Nice work!
yes I will be getting the fog surrounds, wing mirrors and roof bars painted at some point .

Nice work on the car. Super quick turnaround too.

After what had been one of the longest hardest weeks for me this year work and life wise I left the s3 with my local garage to remove the standard front brakes and fit the TTRS ones , the removed discs and pads are almost new and must of been replaced very recently so the new owner has got the bargain of the century tbh , anyway here is some pics .

Tow strap, bonnet pins and vents do nothing for me sorry :(

The splitter is a nice touch along with the RS grill, very aggressive but too far with the other bits and pieces.

About that tow strap. If you were ever in the unfortunate position to use it I assume you would still remove the tow eye cover as I think it would either pop it off or worse do some damage once tensioned up. Also wouldn't it marr the paint flapping about whilst driving?

Not sure where I stand with the aero catches but kudos for taking it on. Looks like you did a good job.

I think for the carbon or other lightweight bonnets those are essential but I also wouldn't fit them to the stock bonnet.

Have to add they are an absolute pain to fit to the Osir or Seibon covers.

Where did you get the splitter from ? Looks great. I'm a fan of the bonnet too !

I'm not too sure on the aero catches or bonnet vents either. Atleast they are black & not fluorescent pink or something;)

Great job mate, your S3 is looking mean as fu*k.

I'm a fan of both the hood vents and pins, it looks like it has been done professionally which is the important part and so pulls it off really well, hats off to you. Liking the splitter as well, never seen one on a facelift before, only the Cupra R on the pre-facelift like myself.

I'm not a fan of black rings on the grill however I must make an exception as I like them on yours. Seeing as you like the stealth approach as well (and deep pockets haha), I'm fitting Lamin-x (Tint colour) tonight which you might be interested in and so I will post up pics tomorrow (possibly time for my own build thread).

Good luck on fitting the Recaro's as well, will be interested in seeing what they look like once they're in.

Cheers buddy , yes I really am going for full on aggressive stealth mode , the car is going to be a fun /track car so I am not going to just do the norm, I have always been a bit different with my cars , some people don't like it but I don't care lol , I actually have some lamin x that I was going to fit on my old e60 M5 but never got round to doing so I may fit it on the S3 , be good to see how yours looks , the front splitter really does look smart on the car and it took some finding , so pleased I bought it , loads more in the pipeline .

Question? Why not 3 door if it's a track car and your removing rear seats?

Sounds good bud liking it so far. For sure, it would be boring if we all had the exact same looking cars so it's good to get variation, even if something isn't to my taste I can still appreciate if it's been done to a good standard.

Driver's side Lamin-x went really well, only took a couple of reapplications to get it right but the passenger side was a right pig! Nearly there but have got a couple of little air bubbles which if they don't smooth out after three days, then they say to pop them with a pin as it is self-annealing. So once I'm happy with the final look, I'll upload some photos. It does look good though especially on a black car, I went for Tint instead of Gun Smoke as Rabit666 (below) had Tint on his and it looked decent without affecting light output at night. I must admit his looks a little darker then mine but it looks overcast in his photo and it's sunny here, plus it says that Tint can appear purple/lighter for the first few days while it sets etc. Fogs were easy to do, just removed the outer fog grill first.

Lamin x

Very disappointing day due to it raining here constantly so no seats fitted , just gutted the drivers side mirror cap which was great fun ......... NOT !!!!! Lol

Next up , installing the Recaro pole positions , seats are free and battery has been disconnected , just giving it 10 mins for everything to properly shut down before disconnecting airbags and seat heating etc

No carbon fibre on the outside of the car at all for me , been there done that , the mirrors will be staying gloss black .

Ok seats are in and what a total pain in the *** job , very disapointed with the recaro subframes £300 each and I had to modify them as certain holes would not line up , poor imho , anyway they look fab

They look spot on mate, must've shredded a good load of weight there too. Annoying that you had to modify the subframes even though they costed £300 each! It's good that you were at least able to rectify the problem though which is probably something I wouldn't have been able to do and would have left me really pi$$ed off.

Like how you've still got Alcantara on the seats to match the steering wheel so it doesn't look out of place, Royal Steering Wheels is on my long list of upgrades. Something I have yet to do on mine which would look mint on yours as well is to get gloss black pillars, not sure what the part number is for the sportback though but they're around £96 including rivets on the 3 door.

Cheers buddy , I am very pleased with the seats , the problem with the subframes is that you have to fit individual components together and they had not drilled 4 of the holes accurately , they were 2mm out which meant the bolts would not line up so I had to try and elongate them , took a while but got there in the end , just need to sort the airbag cables out now and we are all good , when I ordered the Recaros I was keeping the rear seats hence I ordered them to match but now I am fitting harnesses and potentially a full cage at some point they are coming out , I will look into the gloss black pillars .

Pole positions are awesome , so much difference to oem it's unreal , you just do not move , loving them , my OZ alloys have also arrived .
