Pretty bad vibration-A6 C5 Avant 4.2

last couple of weeks I am getting some bad instances of vibration and shaking. It comes and goes but at its worst feels like the wheels are going to fall off and at low speeds. It is hard to pinpoint the source, just wondering if this has happened to anyone before? Gets worse turning right but feels like the whole car. Definitely feels running gear, trans, bearings, shafts. Are there any areas that have known weak links or possible source that could transmit this through the car? Other than a thorough inspection and process of elimination I have no idea where to look. Each corner so far feels ok with no excessive bearing or suspension float. The joys of old cars I guess!

inner cv joint on my 2.7t had completey shat itself on thursday, no boot and needle bearings had fell out, a right mess. guessing the boot had been missing a while but the knock started slightly last week then felt as if the wheel was going to come off until it finally started screaming and banging etc

1.lower arm checking.
2.boot engine checking.
3.wheel bearing checking. knocking wheel from bottom. has attack sound if loosen.

After some inactive months due to the weather I have finally solved the issue. Bought my daughters mk4 Golf GTI 180 as a stop gap, now my daily. I digress, after a few supplier issues I eventually had the correct front calipers sent. The originals were seized hence the Quattro system getting its knickers in a twist. Took a persuading tool to relieve the parts and some disc honing and new pipes made and all's good. Vibration gone. My god those calipers are a beast! Thought my Brembos on the track car were big but these are a chunk of metal. Starting to love it again. Just need vagcom access to sort the new clock swap.
