I bought that one a few weeks back in the sales at Homebase (£99.99) and it works really well for cleaning the car, gets all the muck off.

Had 2 Karchers and the pumps went on both. I think the more expensive ones have a better pump which may last longer. I picked up a pressure washer (Alto) for £40 recently and it far better than an equivalent Karcher - quieter and more accessories with it.

that is a good pressure washer and a good price but i am sure that if you shop around you will get cheaper as halfords are really over priced and you could probably save more by not going to them but that is my opinion..

have a look at this one,

Cheers for the suggestion. It does appear though for an extra £10 I could get a 4-series instead of your recommended 2-series; seems a bit of a no-brainer to me.

Thanks mate. Only had a brief check online and couldnt find anything, but is there the patio cleaner (T-Racer) equivalent with the Alto?

I think the Alto is made by Kew - it's a cheapy but much better than the equivalent Karcher effort. I suspect the more expensive Karchers have an induction motor rather than a universal motor and are therefore quieter and maybe more reliable.

Not sure about the patio cleaner, will see if I can find out.

Halford's also do their own brand of power washers, and for general car cleaning, I've found them to be good, and cheap! (~£40)

We use mini-Karchers and one of their big boy hot water jobbies. The pumps have failed on the mini ones after extended use, but it's not an expensive job to fix, and they do work well. Also bear in mind it's dead easy to get foam lance attachments for Karcher units, which isn't always the case for other brands.

Cheers all for your responses. Decided on the Karcher in the end, but one last question before I enter pressure washing nirvana

Anybody had any experience with the above?. I'm not sure whether it's a kosher Karcher accessory (I can't find any evidence of its existence on Karchers website). It's just it seems a little on the cheap-side when compared with other fitments I've seen.

Hi mate, yes it is a proper karcher accessory, but it's not very good when compared to the other 3rd party foamers. It's feels very cheaply made, and just doesn't foam very well.
