I’m currently stock but am wanting to go stage 1 or 2+ with either revo, Apr or MRC. Anyone able to give me some insight into how they 3 compare to each other? Be interested to see some graphs from a dyno on the same day, same operator etc which would give some indication into the figures of the maps.

Thanks

@Kristijan Sabljar is your man for Revo. He is running stage 2. I'm stage 1 Revo and very happy.

Had MRC stage 1 on my PFL and was blown away by the difference it made, despite having had cars in the past that have been mapped.

Not tried APR but they annoy me for some of the silly claims they make and rarely quote pump fuel figures. That makes me not trust them!

Been told revo are pretty conservative compared to APR/MRC, at least that’s what it was like in the golf R world....any input on that?

I'm led to believe that APR/MRC maps are more torquey but understand that Revo held back on the torque on stage 1 due to temps getting to high and power being pulled back. Certainly Kristijan's car has been getting some incredible times and I'm kind of happy with the fact it's not so OTT for the sake of the car!

My PFL MRC stage 1 felt bonkers and more brutal than my Revo TTRS stage 1 if I am being honest. I'm sure the TTRS is much faster in reality and make no mistake, it fairly rockets down the road!

Revo holding back on torque? That‘s from a RS3 Facelift.

I don't think anyone has yet answered OPs question, which is to have Dyno comparison of the three tuners on the same day with a same operator.

@Boj27 it is very unlikely you'll get what you've aksed for buddy. People will always give you a biased view based on their likings/dislikings and preferences. I believe you'll have to take a punt and go with a tuner you think will tune you happy.

For me it is and will always be MRC and like many others I might also be biased in my views. However, I am going to slightly contradict myself here as if I look at MRC alone their graphs and numbers are very consistent across all the platforms and regardless of the day...

I would like that MRC had the option like bootmod3 or MHD or VF1 (BMW) to tune and send the software with an iOS or Android app.

My RS3 now has 161.000km 8v and did not tune it but I have driven 2 APR RS3 stage1 and Stage 2 cars.

For me they have too much torque, I would like a more progressive and linear torque delivery.

They seem fast as...hell but why do you need so much torque when the DSG has problems to manage it in LC?

My perfect stage 1 would be 550Nm and as much power as I could at 6500-7000rpm.

Sounds to me like someone needs to organise a rolling road day at MRC and get the Revo/MRC/APR PFL stage 1 & 2 lads along. Only way to answer your question.

I’m game....

I have Revo on my car now 15000 miles. I started with Revo stg1 98 fuel and i got 7,9-8,0 sec 100-200kmh on 30 celzius day which is good.
On 100 fuel i got 7,8 sec, lowest power i measured was 485Hp/600Nm .

Now i have same stg1 file with Milltek downpipe , IE intake, Wagner Evo 3 intercooler , its 6-8 celzius ambient and i get 7.1-7,2 sec 100-200kmh

505Hp/650Nm . I dont know about MRC and APR power graphs but i know Billy in his group with 510hp/700Nm is doing 100-200kmh 7.3 sec MRC stg2 , APR stg1 with all parts like me just E85 is getting 6.9-7.0 sec 100-200kmh so just 0.1-0.2 faster than me, consider he is using E85 versus , mine 100 fuel (99ron real) its not diff and should be 550hp according APR graphs.

I have 0-60mph 3.0 sec
0-100mph 6,6sec
62-125mph 7.1 sec
60-130mph 8.4 sec
1/4 mile 10.9 sec

All in my topic

All times corrected and as far as i know fasets stg1 car on 100 fuel .

Revo developed stg1 16 months so it has to be good.

We have stg2 beta TTRS from Werl 2 102 fuel 540Hp/750Nm doing 62-125mph 6,5 sec with huge wing on car (6,3 will be possible with stock one).

Cant wait stg2 on my car :D

So if u ask me with Revo u cant miss

Surely you must be facelift model with 505bhp..?

I'd be up for that. But you'd want a truly independent rolling road.

Thats lots of tricks on stock IC if Iat goes high ECu reduces power drastically. U need good cooling. Honestly power graph is just orientation for me I really care how that car performes on road.

Vbox od Draggy with corrected times are the best pointers of perfromances

I can not talk about MRC or APR, but on REVO I had some experience with my previous PFL.
Between stage 1 and stage 2 REVO I suggest you stay on stage 1. Stage 2 has the same maximum power as stage 1. With REVO stage 1 I was able to use an octane 98 map without the control unit making any corrections. With REVO stage 2 I was forced to use 97 octane map, with the 98+ the control unit also corrected -9%. In order not to have corrections I had to additivate petrol with BOOSTANE. I also tried REVO stage 1+ but it is less performing than stage 1. I suggest you to stay at stage 1 + secondary decat + intercooler forge or wagner + K & N panel filter. In this configuration you have the best performance at the best price.
I am attaching a comparison chart REVO stage 1 with Revo stage 2 with mounted forge intercooler. The jagged graph with stage 2 I think is due to the corrections control unit using octane 98 non-additive gasoline.

I would hazard a guess at MRC performing the best followed by APR then REVO

I would also consider Unicorn Motorsport ahead of APR or REVO

I’m running unicorn stage 1 418bhp 450ft/lb only mod is secondary decat. Very good ideally I’d get an intercooler tho like mentioned before

Was you on the 62 a few weeks ago. Came alongside me? Daytona grey RS3?

TTRS APR Stage 1 (E85)

0-60mph = 2.90
0-100mph = 6.24
100-200kmh = 6.24
1/4m = 10.58 @ 132

TTRS APR Stage 1 (99)

100-200kmh = 6.9

All times with standard 20" wheels and Pirelli P-Zero's at full weight.

I don't have any figures for the APR Stage 2 (E85 / 99 ) yet.

Your times look good although are you 100% sure on your 0-100mph? I would think that's about where my TTRS would be on 99 Stage 1.

I had my previous S3 stage 1 from Rick and was great. He never posts any RS3 he’s mapped on social media which I think is strange as he would prob be my first choice for the RS in the new year

Can I ask what fuel are you running on your Stage 1 and which stage 1 did you pick? Reason I ask is that I can't get 98 Ron here in Ireland.

Tesco 99 Momentum.

I used MRC previously and loved it, but their customer service was shocking. I also know the guys at Revo HQ and so decided to go for them this time. Very happy. It's a more linear power delivery, but I think the FL engine is more like that anyway. All of the big tuners will be very similar. However, I do like that Revo beta test their tunes globally and extensively in different environments.

I'm not sure I'd be happy running a tuned car on poorer quality fuel than 98!

I noticed this too he didn’t post mine either

Fair enough mate. This one came beside me. Dropped a gear and floored for a little bit. Not sure what he was achieving, i said to my misses, does he know we have the same car .. i know they sound good:racer:

They sound so much better from the outside though. If I seen another RS3/TTRS, I'd be asking them to floor it past me while my windows were down!

I'd be up for that. But you'd want a truly independent rolling road.

My local specialist does monthly dyno days now on weekends, £50 a run.

But the last time they ran my car, they insisted that it was run in FWD because supposedly they’ve realised that they aren’t good running in Quattro on their brand new Dyno Dynamics dyno.

I got 411bhp in 4wd at 3000 miles, 13000 miles on the clock and in 2wd got 392bhp... wtf! They had to work hard to get that 392 as well. Seemed like a totally irrelevant run!

MRC also run in 2wd

But why it’s a nonsense reading?

All good to measure difference between stock and a map, but in the real world it’s a total rubbish outcome... you will never have that power on the road.

Totally baffled how mine had 20bhp less in 2wd.

heatsoak?

iv watched 1000hp gtr make not even close to 800hp because it heat soaked so badly
