Power

A friend of mine would like to know if going from a 1996 A4 2.6 Quattro to a 1999 A3 1.8T Quattro he'd notice a decrease in power or would the power in the A3 be similar to the A4 specified?

The A3 has more power @ 180bhp and is lighter so it would be quicker all round.
