Power Steering Fluid?

Quick question about the VAG hydraulic fluid.
I noticed the resevoir was fairly low, so wanting to top-up.

I have been sold a bottle of G 004 000 M2 fluid from the parts counter, I have looked on the VAG parts website which shows fluid G 002 000 M2 fluid.

I asked about this and was told that they didnt stock G 002 000 M2 fluid and didnt know if the newer fluid could be used where G 002 000 M2 is specified.

Dont want to use it just yet, until I know for sure its correct!

You need to ensure it;'s mineral oil and not synthetic.
Looking online, i cannot see that G 004 000 M2 is mineral.

Yeah, its very difficult to find a definitive answer online.

Not even the owners manual states the type of fluid required!

General consensus online is that the G 004 fluid superseded the G 002 fluid, much like the G12/G13 coolant.
